Lightbulb Biopic ideas?

Now that I have completed my screenwriting course and am about to go in to post-grad studies, one of the ideas that was suggested to me was for biopics, which are big sellers. A biopic is a movie about a famous person living or dead. The head of the school told me however, that I should concentrate on a person who has died perhaps at least 200 years ago, so I don't run afoul of the estate or living descendents of that person.

So does anyone have any ideas who would make a good biopic? (Preferably one who hasn't been done?)

I dunno, Attila the Hun might work.

Or Ivan the Terrible?

Rasputin. He had a fasinating life, a suspicious relationship with the Czar's family, and some say he was not all together human, or he was in the service of supernatural beings... He's got a mixed reputation, and can be portrayed as evil, misunderstood, or both!

Now that's a story!

Whatever you do, now, and in your life, all I ask, is that you keep biopics historically accurate. I hate it when film-makers embellish the facts, or make something up entirely. With Rasputin, it shouldn't be hard to tell the truth, and appeal to the public.

I have to ask this question. If I give you a good idea, and you sell the script, do I get a cut of the box office?????

My suggestion would be Benjamin Franklin. I just saw his bio on the History Channel and this was a really interesting dude.

I'll tell you were to send the check later!!! LOL!!!!!

Rasputin would be VERY interesting!!

I don't believe in embellishing the truth. Of course there are things of using some creative license, but to distort things is not it.

One biopic I would love to do is about the managerial career of baseball's Billy Martin. His career would make an excellent movie.

MSTies (fans of the show Mystery Science Theater 3000) would probably know what I'm talking about more than the average person but I would also like to do a film about the careers of Bert I. Gordon, Roger Corman, and/or Coleman Francis.

And this is what I would do. I can't think of anyone dead 200 years.

Brian your right, Billy Martin's life would make a great biopic. Billy was the last of the greats!
