Default The lost sitcom of the 1970's comes back to life on Aug 23, 2005-on DVD

That show is-"THAT"S MY MAMA"-seasons 1 and 2 along with

What's Happening-season 3
Good Times-season-5

With the start of the NFL season and the release of That's My Mama, i don;t know if i can handle all that happiness in one month.

Really looking forward to That's My Mama (Seasons 1 & 2)
I assume that they are 2 separate sets since Season 1 had 26 episodes.
(but season 2 only had 13).
I only saw the show in syndication, but regardless let's hope the episodes are uncut.

I'll get What's Happening Season 3 , but it is certainly the weakest of the three seasons and that Big Earl Little Earl crap is fairly annoying.

I will take either season of That's My Mama over the last season of What's Happening

Oh, no! It's been so long. I forgot about Big Earl/Little Earl. Ack! Gag! No wonder the show was canned after this season.

No it wasn't cancelled, the actors were asking for too much money which led to the cancellation.

That's my Mama". I haven't seen that show in YEARS ! Maybe I'll rent it, to see if it's as good as I remember. And if it is, maybe I'll buy it.

(I rent any DVD that I'm considering buying first, to see how good it is)

Well that's sounds like a good way to see if it's buyable since it's not in syndication.

I'll definitely be getting what's Happening season 3. I've honestly never heard of That's My Mama.

Yeah that's probably because it's the lost sitcom of the 70's-lol The show That's My Mama premeired on ABC in 1974 and only lasted until December 1975. There was a total of 39 episodes. The known actors from the show were Clifton Davis on starred on Amen and Theordore Roosevelt who appeared on Good Times, What's Happening, Sanford Arms, and the Redd Foxx Show.

Question

wasn't Ted Lange (I think that's his name) the guy who played the bartender on "The Love Boat" also on it?

Didn't he have another catch phrase, like "Solid" or something like that? Or was it just the one you mentioned?

He would also say-"WOOOOO WEEEEEEEEE" when he had some hot news. Junior Walking in the Door was the Highlight of the Show. Which is why I can't wait until the show is released because I'm watching all 39 eps in one weekend-LOL I'm turning off my call waiting so no one can disturb me. It will truly a That's My Mama Weekend Thon for me.

I see in your avatar that they were on the cover of TV Guide. That is pretty surprising.
