THEME PARKS Designer duds cheap at Universal Studios Universal Studios Hollywood has a new attraction to take your breath away, and it's not a roller coaster. The theme park has opened the Wardrobe Department, a shop where visitors will be able to buy costumes and other clothes that have been used in popular movie and TV productions -- at tiny prices. (That's the breathtaking part, as you clothes hounds will discover.) How about a Tahari skirt for $20? (Online, Elie Tahari skirts sell for a couple hundred dollars.) Or a long bohemian-style Anna Sui jacket for $60? Designer labels abound. On a recent day, a pair of Chloé pants worn in the soap opera ``Passions'' were marked at $25. And a sundress by Fiori di Zucca was $50. Selections for women and men range from contemporary to haute couture to clothing tailored for a specific actor. Each item is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, documenting the television or movie production on which the item was worn or utilized. Among the movies and shows whose clothing has been on sale recently were ``American Dreams,'' `` Will and Grace'' ``Crossing Jordan'' and the soap opera ``Passions.'' Customers must pay park admission to shop at the Wardrobe Department. |

Do you think it's possible that they are only selling the "old" (as in 1st Season) American Dreams clothing that they don't intend to use again? (Rather than they're selling ALL the American Dreams clothing because they won't need them again).

That doesn't mean anything about it's future because Will and Grace was included and it's coming back next season. I do think AD is gone though. The NBC Fall schedule is released Monday.

Does anyone know if they were selling Will Estes's penny loafers at Universal?

Believe it or not, just about the entire wardrobe was on sale. I was lucky enough to get to California back in May and they had everything from Meg's pink shirt (the one she wore in the first 2 seasons) to Beth's wedding dress.
My cousin actually ended up buying the peasant shirt that Meg wore in the last few episodes. I'm not sure if they still have clothes there, but they once had a great selection. (And cheap too) -Brian |
