Hi to all....
I'm trying to find out the show name and the real name of the man that played a drunk on some of the shows... The onl time that I remember seeing him was in a bar and Raplh would usually be the only other one there. And sometimes we would be lucky and the drunk would sing.... Anyone know his name... please! Thanks john |

When Jackie Gleason returned to CBS in 1962 on the American Scene Magazine (which in 1966 became The Jackie Gleason Show) he added the character of Crazy Guggenhiem, played by Frank Fontaine, to the Joe the Bartender sketches. And, yes, Fontaine had a lovely bass voice and ofter sang short ballads. In the 1950s Joe the Bartender would address Crazy or Mr. Dennehy, but the audience never saw them.

Thanks for bringing back a memory. I have an autographed record album by FF somewhere. My parents, sister and I saw him back in his heyday during his JG stint.
