Default The Augustine Family

The Augustine Family :
John Stamos plays Dan Augustine, a middle-classed, middle-aged husband and father of two, who is a shop teacher at the high school. Dan's wife, Tina Augustine (Connie Britton) is a party planner-who owns her own party planning business with her sister, Kate (Faith Ford) and their cousin/friend, Lisa (Courteney Cox-Arquette). Dan and Tina have two kids: 16 year old daughter, Holly Augustine (Brie Larsen) and 15 year old son, Matt Augustine (Jacob Smith). Holly is a sophomore and Matt is a freshman. Dan, Tina, Holly, and Matt live together in their two-story, red brick New Jersey home. Tina and Kate's recently divorced mom, Carol (Sally Struthers) relocates herself to an apartment building in a retirement community nearby her daughters. Also, Tina and Kate's younger, wayward brother, Dave (David Faustino) lives in a dumpy apartment, as he works oddball jobs for short-periods of time.

Episodes

Ep1: Pilot Episode:
Dan and Tina celebrate their 18th wedding anniversary by spending a weekend in Connecticut at a Bed and Breakfast. Holly and Matt are looked after by Kate and Lisa-who learn they aren't ready to have kids just yet.

Ep2: Nearby Mother:
Kate and Tina learn their mom, Carol is moving nearby. The daughters are happy to see their mom leave their alcoholic father, yet realize the downside of having their mom living so close to them. Meanwhile, Dan tries to organize his lesson-plans for the following week at school but is getting interrupted by Matt and Holly's bickering.

Ep3: Trip To The Mall:
Holly reluctantly invites Tina, Kate, and Lisa to accompany her to the mall to pick out Holly's homecoming dress. Dan and Matt discuss when to have their annual father-son camping trip in Connecticut.

Ep4: Brats, Brats, and More Brats:
An acquaintance of Kate's (Felicity Huffman) asks Kate, Lisa, and Tina to plan and throw a birthday party for her 6 year old boy in a couple weeks. The women plan, decorate, and throw the birthday party, yet must deal with a bratty guest of honor. Meanwhile, Holly tries out and makes the pom-pom squad.

Ep5: Parent-Teacher Conference:
Dan must face an unhappy father (Woody Harrelson) during parent-teacher conferences. Kate and Lisa decide to go to a singles bar to meet men, but before they go by swing by Tina's to have Tina and Holly help them out with some last-minute fashion and dating advice.

Ep6: Bad Timing:
Dan makes a "joke" out of how Tina has "hairy legs", yet Dan's "little harmless joke" doesn't settle with Tina (especially due to the fact it is her "time of the month"). Matt enters himself into skateboarding contest, without his parents' consent.

Ep7: Engagement For Whom?"
Lisa, Tina, and Kate plan an engagement party unknowning the to-be groom is an old college flame of Kate's. Kate has a hard time putting "her-all" into decorating it, Lisa and Tina work-together to have Kate put the old flame behind her and move on. Matt injures himself and fractures his leg (in three places) during the skateboarding contest-resulting in Dan and Tina not happy about the situation.

Ep8: Little Brother:
Kate and Tina's little brother, Dave is turning 30. The women throw him a surprise party, yet they forgot to choose someone to bring the guest of honor. The sisters send Dan to go get Dave-who is involved in his own little one-on-one party with girlfriend, Jamie (Tori Spelling).

Ep9: Richer Friend:
Holly gets invited to a close friend, April (Sara Paxton),'s birthday pool party. Holly feels "not good enough" when she realizes April's family is richer than she first thought. Tina and Dan are first hurt, then after talking it over-angry because Holly is sounding ungrateful and just jealous of her friend and her wealthiness. Holly sees how hurt and angry her hardworking parents are, and decides to apologize.

Ep10: Bad Grades, Bad Dates:
Matt is failing three required classes, which angers his parents greatly. Meanwhile, Lisa has a horrible date with a doctor..a foot doctor who loves to talk about his work (i.e. his patients and their problems). Lisa is mortified and grossed out to the max and leaves the date even before the food comes.

Ep11: The Middle-Aged Concert:
Dan scores four free tickets to a Led Zepplin concert. So, he, Tina, Kate, and Lisa decide to attend the concert. They have a blast, and on the ride home they reminicise about the past. Meanwhile, Holly learns from April (Paxton) that her new boyfriend, Chris, is cheating on her with April's cousin, Nikki. Holly denies it, until she and April bump into Chris and Nikki hand in hand at the mall together.
