where Bill Cosby is from. Think about, instead of talking about a make-believe College like Hillman, Temple University could have been the College since that is the College Bill attended. I don't know if it was ever explained why the show was based in NYC instead of Philadelphia.

It was taped in Brooklyn, maybe that has something to do with it, although they never did any location filming. Didn't/doesn't Bill Cosby live in New York? They could get a lot more actors and creative people to work on the show I suppose.

Also, wasn't this show's basic premise developed before Bill Cosby was involved in it? That could also be a big reason.

He lived in NY but was raised in Philly. And since his name was in the title of the show he probably could have had some type of influence on where the show should be based.
