Default Could it be like an allergy?

For about a few weeks, my throat has really been hurting me, my nose has been reallly itchy and stuffy alot, and I feel like sneezing all the time.

Could this be an allergy or something? If so, have an idea what it could be from?

pollen. This happens to me every spring when trees start budding and every fall when the leaves fall off.

Yup - that's what it is alright! I just got over a rough two weeks myself and have spoken to a lot of people this Spring who's having the same problems. It's like some new allergen is in the air this year or something.

I wouldn't bother getting tested for allergies just yet. I went through that several times as a kid and it wasn't fun. I was put on allergy injections once a week for 14 years and never really noticed it did anything to help. If anything, when I went off them when I was 18, I was BETTER than I had been.

Just ask your mom to find a good antihistamine for you to try. They usually work quite well. I use Reactine myself, but there might be one better for someone your age.

Hope it helps!

Well thanks everyone......I asked my parents about it and they said they'd get me some allergy medicine later. Hopefully that'll help.

my sister took allergy shots and they helped her alot....but medicine can be good too, it all depends on the person so just see what your parents or doctor suggest

Zyrtec works the best, but you need a prescription from a doctor.

I'm not against them for everyone, its just I feel they should be a last resort (the serums alone are extremely expensive)! Also, I had to endure 100 pin pricks in rows down my back, then 80 down EACH arm. When you're 4 years old especially it sure ain't a lot of fun - especially when I did get a lot of reactions (that's why I needed the serums). I'm sure they helped the first few years to get more over a period, but I also found that just exposing myself over a long period of time to certain allergens seemed to get me past them. (That's actually what the serums are - controlled amounts of what you're allergic to so you build up an immunity).

Luckily, usually seasonal allergies don't last too long anyway.
