Default Plug-ins for Firefox Browser?

I visit a couple of websites and it says I need to install a plug in. I do have Macromedia Flash, I thought that was compatible with Firefox? What do I need to do to install a plug in for Firefox?

Anyone know? thanks

It should say click here to install plug-in where the flash applet should be and when you click that it installs it.

the most common plug-ins are here:

https://pfs.mozilla.org/plugins/

you should be able to click on the "Install missing plug-ins" button in the bar at the top of the tab, or install it manually

what is the file you are trying to view?

It's still not letting me. The browser is preventing me from installing it for some reason

It won't let me, Firefox is preventing it from letting it install

If you click the bar where it prevents you, it should give you options

you may have to add that site to the "allowed sites" list to install software

go to the Tools>Options and click on the Web Features tab

make sure the "Allow Web sites to install software" is checked, and click on the "Allowed Sites" button

add mozilla.org and mozdev.org

then try to install your plugin again (make sure it's the right one for that filetype)

is your firefox up-to-date?

go to the Help>About menu, the current version is 1.0.3 (the most current versions of some plugins may not work with older versions of firefox)

Yeah it's the current version 1.0.3.

How do I know which plug in suitable for a website? I installed one, but I guess it wasn't the right type for that website.

Sometimes it won't install correctly, because the flash plug-in works for all sites with flash
