Default Remember the episode where Mike and Carol played the grandparents

I haven't watched that one in years. What was the name of it? Correct me if I'm wrong. Didn't grandma say, as they were leaving, that they getting hitched?? I'm thinking, maybe get married again, right. How can they just be gettingmarried?

That episode was called "You're Never Too Old", ep # 93, original air date March 9, 1973 (season 4). (Not to be confused with Season 5's "Never Too Young", in which Bobby receives a kiss from a very cute (and soon to be famous) Melissa Sue Anderson.

"Never Too Old" was close to being the worst episode in the history of the series. I never watch that one...did they hire a Junior High drama club to do the make up in that one? That was ridiculous.

It was Carol's grandmother who married Mike's grandfather - no previous relation.

And yes, it's a terrible episode - but notice how believable Robert Reed was as an elderly man (makeup aside), complete with shaky voice. Compare him to that ham Florence Henderson, who seemed to think that a silly southern accent would convey age.

Yes, TV Guy, very, very true...Henderson was totally obnoxious as the great-grandmother...and you're right, Reed did do an excellent job playing the old man.

I hated that episode too. I wouldn't have even known that was Robert Reed under that make up, but Florence Henderson was a joke! It was so obviously her face and voice!

But to tell you the truth I think that was the whole point of the entire episode. Is for Grandma to look young and act young for her age. That was the whole point of her charachter. Don't you remember?
