Was FP nominated for any emmy awards? If not, do you guys think it should have been?

The only nomination it got was for electronic lighting. Will was nominated for a Golden Globe twice. I think the show and it's actors should have considered.

I think that it didn't get it's due come awards time. One actor I could've seen getting nominated was Joseph Marcell. I could see him getting many Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series nominations and maybe winning one.

It would have been nice if Alfonso Ribeiro was at least nominated once, but I guess the emmy awards don't like those kind of shows.

The Golden Globes tend to be more open than the Emmys. even the Image awards haven't given shows the recognition they deserved, because they tend to have their favorites and give the awards them year after year. The Steve Harvey show won most of the awards for television until it went off and now Bernie Mac is going in the same direction. the good thing about the Image awards is that a lot of regular people vote.

One curious thing they did was award the Sister Sister twins twice as a team as lead actress, once a year after the show had ended. I guess this was fair since one wasn't any better or worse than the other, but the thing about nominating shows by calendar year means that a show that only ran one season can win twice. Generally those Image awards are even more predictable than the emmies. Whoever gets the most love in the black media is going to win. |

Actually The Cosby Show won 5 Image Awards in total.
Bill Cosby won one. Phylicia Rashad won one. Keisha Knight Pullium won one. Actor Roscoe Lee Browne won one for Guest Actor. And the show itself won a Image Award for best comedy. It's listed in IMDB. But you are right, the Emmys, Golden Globes and Image Awards are biased towards their favorites. |
