Punky Gustavson murder: the trial is under way

A murder trial is slated to begin this coming Monday. It is the trial of Clifford Sleigh. He is accused of the 1992 murder of Corrine "Punky" Gustavson. (Check out the article at the link above.) During the 1993-94 season of UM, the show featured the case. In the same segment, it was mentioned that, around the time of the Gustavsan murder, another Canada girl (then three years old) was attacked and left for dead. Fortunately, that girl survived. This attempted murder and Punky's murder were believed to have been committed by the same person. It wasn't until 2003 when an arrest was made in Punky's murder. If Clifford Sleigh is proved to be Punky's killer, let's hope that he doesn't get away it. |
