Default Book about Norman Lear and The Jeffersons

HI. . . I am writing a book about Norman Lear and his experiences with the shows he created, like the Jeffersons. I am currently looking for pictures for the book - and would like to know if anybody had any they would like to donate. I would credit your name and thank you in the acknowledgements. I am new to this forum and plan to get into it.

By the way, I interview actors for the book - already interviewed Marla Gibbs and Franklin Cover, and am trying to get a hold of Paul Benedict and Berlinda Tolbert.

Visit my website at www.dear-norman.com.

Thanks.

I don't have any pictures. It would be good if you good get some screen caps just to offer up something fresh instead of the same ole pics that are always around if you have access to the show (WPIX in NYC airs it on most Sat eves if you have that channel in your cable package).

Cool website btw.

What kind of shape is Franklin Cover in? The last I saw of him was a decade ago in an episode of ER.

Norman Lear's shows had some of the best actors in sitcoms in the 70s-mid80s. At least in the 70s they taped those shows 2x live so the actors couldn't pussyfoot around. They had to be able to bring it on stage and most of them were exceptionally good.

Franklin Cover was 75 when I talked to him in August, and had survived a heart transplant. (By the way, I contacted him thru mail, not through an agent like I am doing with most of the actors.) When I contacted him again in November, he sent me a letter saying due to medical conditions, he was forced to cut down on interviews, but he would try to answer my questions. He still has not, but I imagine he is very ill. He had a short role in Will and Grace in 1999, his last TV appearance. In August, he told me he had done a commerical a few days back. He was so nice in his correspondence.

I do have access to WPIX, but there are a lot of legal issues involved with screen capturing - believe me, I would love to get pics from there, but I have to find out more first. But I promise you I will try - your input means a lot - after all, its what you want to read.

Thanks for checking out the website. Glad you like it. By the way, if anybody had old magazines about these shows, I am always looking for more resources.
