So what do you think happened to Kristen Tomlin? - She vanished in late 1981 while on a fishing trip with Bob Doescher, John Russell and Doescher's wife Sherry. Bob Doescher and John Russell surfaced soon after the foursome set sail for Tahiti claiming that their boat the "Freedom 2" was rammed by a larger boat and both Tomlin and Doescher's wife were missing. However several discrepancies were later brought to light regarding the boat wreck. It was determined that the two men could not have been stranded in the water for as long as they had claimed due to their bodies not suffering any ill-effects from exposure to the cold water. It was also alleged that Doescher and Russell were running drugs and faked the wreck for unknown reasons (one theory was so they could keep the drugs and pawn them off themselves) - No trace of the "Freedom 2" was ever found although investigators doubted it actually sunk and was instead still very seaworthy and sailing somewhere in the Hawaiian islands

I cannot find any information on this case on the Internet technically because it is at least partially solved. Bob Doescher and John Russell were located in the early 1990s and charged with insurance fraud and were given short jail terms (They would both be released for several years now) - Doescher and Russell claim they have no idea what happened to Doescher's wife or Kristen Tomlin. However it has also been stated that Doescher, Russell and Sherry Ann Doescher have all had several aliases and there is a chance that both Kristen Tomlin and Sherry Ann Doescher are still alive although it is equally likely they are both dead

Any thoughts or further information?

Yes, that was such a twisted and complex case! Wasn't Sherry Doescher married both to Bob Doescher and John Russell? I don't know of any further information on it but my opinion is Sherry and Kristen Tomlin are probably no longer living or they would have surfaced when they captured the other two. I wouldn't be suprised to hear that Bob and John threw them overboard or something like that. Just my opinion though.

I agree. Just from watching the segment and the way the two "survivors" of the accident acted, you could reasonably surmise that they had something to do with both womens disappearance. It was strange though, even the weirdness of Sherry's marriage to both men, it didnt seem like they all were having trouble with each other. Maybe if it was a drug deal the women didnt want any part of it and were killed for their silence.

Confusing and strange.
