Bruce Springsteen Takes Himself too Seriously... What a Chump!

Bruce Springsteen is taking his solo acoustic concert tour seriously. Those
attending tonight's concert at Glendale Arena, which spotlights
Springsteen's new Devils & Dust album, will be given cards with "guidelines"
for the show, according to arena officials.


According to a copy posted on the arena's Web site
(www.glendalearenaaz.com):


. "All concession stands will close 10 minutes prior to the start of the
show (scheduled for 7:30 p.m.) and will remain closed for the duration of
the show."


. "All guests must be seated by the start of the first song. Guests arriving
to their seating section after the start of the show will be seated
following the third song."


An e-mail sent to photographers covering the show tells them to "bring your
quietest camera. . . . If the sound of the camera is too distracting, you
may be asked to change location or stop shooting."

Yeah, that's the way it sounds by that article. Maybe it's just the venue or something, because I know someone who went to his show the other night and it definitely wasn't that bad.

Bruce takes his music very seriously. If he feels he needs to set up certian guidelines for the audiance to follow, I think that he should do just that. It is the fact that Bruce takes what he does so seriously that he is one of the few middle aged musicans who hasn't made a total fool out of himself yet. The Rolling Stones can't say that. Elton John certianly can't say that. Bruce can.

I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I once heard years ago that
Paul McCartney didn't want vendors selling meat products at his concerts because he's a vegetarian.

So you would be willing to deprive concert patrons of concessions? Of food?

And I am an Elton John fan so don't you disrespect him.

I'm not saying anyone should be deprived of food. They can eat before the concert. I didn't mean to offend you concerning Elton John. I too really like Elton, he's one of the greatest musicians ever, but he continuiously makes a fool out of himself in public.

that's true. I really believe it was his comments regarding Madonna, George Michael, and others that caused Peachtree Road to be such a poor seller.

I agree with that. One thing I cannot stand at a concert is people constantly getting up and leaving while I'm trying to watch the show and they've gone to get something to eat. Do that before the show. I always eat before I get to the show anyway. The prices they charge at the concessions is ridiculous.

I also hate that. There's no room as it is in those seats, so I really hate it when people start climbing over me to go buy some overpriced food item. I especially agree with this regarding Bruce's current tour. It's an accoustic show, so having a bunch of people get up and leave could be a big distraction.

I agree. This isn't one of his big arena shows with the E Street Band, he's doing an acoustic tour.
I've seen alot of shows in Manhattan featuring an artist onstage playing acousitc, and the audience in general knows that you don't act like you're attending some stand on your chair waving your beer cup show.

A little decorum never hurt rock and roll...

LOLLLL. i was a few minutes late when i went to see metallica because some people made me go take off all my bracelets and put them in a little room. but it was just godsmack opening.
