Default Jack Nicholson- would he fit in on the show?

I think Jack would kick ass on The Sopranos. He's a good actor and plus he has a crazy personality in most of his movies (The Shining, Batman with the Joker). I think he might be ruthless enough to play a mobster. What do you guys think?

Oh yeah, I think Jack Nicholson could pull it off. He wouldn't even have to utter a single word - just flash that mischievous grin.

But really, looking back on just a handful of his movies I think he would fit in on The Sopranos.

I don't think it would work. Nicholson is too big of an actor. Plus, he doesn't even remotely look Italian.

I had a similar thought. OK, he could actually pass for an Italian mobster (remember Prizzi's Honor?), but the cast as it is now is like a delicately balanced ecosystem. Throwing someone so larger-than-life as Jack into the mix would be about as incongruous as Carrot Top joining the cast of Friends. I think he'd be more of a distraction than an asset to an already exceptional ensemble.

Yea he might be too poplular for the show. But the thing that could make him work is his crazy and agressive character. Cause in a lot of his other movies he always plays like an insane person so he's probably got the ruthlessness to be a mobster. He might do a good job playing a New York guy or something that's with Johnny Sac and Phil Leotardo. I think it would be pretty cool to have Frank Vincent and Jack Nicholson on the same show. You know what else would be cool too is that if they had Jack Nicholson like at war with Ritchie Aprile like back in season 2 cause their both pretty mean.

he is a good actor but he wouldnt fit on the show.....it is not just his status but to me he just doesnt fit in the formula that makes the show work.......

now an actor who i would love to see on the show who could definitley work would be Chaz Palminteri

see another part of the show that works is the fact most of the actors have either lived or where born in the tri-state area.....so it gives you that realism...because you can just tell if an actor is from ny or nj if you have lived there......

Jack Nicholson was born in Neptune, New Jersey. But your right though, Chazz would be awesome on the show especially after being in Bronx Tale with Lilo Brancatto. Joe Mantegna I think would do pretty good on the show too cause he's not overly popular but somewhat popular cause he was Joey Zasa in Godfather 3 and acted in a lot of other movies too.

Yea, probably because he doesn't have that East coast accent like James Gandolfini or Mike Imperioli but he was born in Jersey. You guys are probably right though, Nicholson's probably too popular for the shows cast. He would stick out too much. He's a good actor though.
