Default My email (just now) to americandreams@nbcuni.com

I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN YOU, NBC. DESPITE OVER 20,000 SIGNATURES ON A PETITION, NUMEROUS POSTCARDS AND LETTERS, AND OUTCRIES FOR QUALITY TELEVISION, YOU CANCELLED THE BEST SHOW ON TV. AND FOR WHAT? ANOTHER REALITY TELEVISION SERIES?

"AMERICAN DREAMS" WAS THE ONLY SHOW ON YOUR NETWORK I TRULY LOOKED FORWARD TO WATCHING EVERY WEEK. SO, IT DIDN'T GET THE RATINGS THAT A SHOW LIKE "FRIENDS" DID. DOESN'T LOOK LIKE "JOEY" OR EVEN "THE CONTENDER" IS DOING ALL THAT GREAT. WHY CANCEL "AMERICAN DREAMS"?

YOU NOT ONLY GAVE UP ON A TERRIFICALLY WRITTEN, PRODUCED AND WELL-ACTED SERIES, YOU GAVE UP ON WHAT I DEEM AS THE LAST SHOW ON TV THAT PEOPLE OF ALL AGES CAN ENJOY. YOU KILLED "FAMILY HOUR." CONGRATULATIONS. YOU SHOULD BE PROUD.

Quality does not matter to these people (network executives). If a quality show does get good ratings, then they will renew it, but all those little bean counting executives care about are those stupid (and inaccurate) Nielesn ratings, which are controlled by a few thousand extremely powerful (and apparently very stupid) American families.

Quanity does not necessarily equal quality. Was Warren Harding a great president because he won in a landslide in 1920?

In fact, there is a great market out there for someone to build a tv network that will only be concerned with quality programming, and make it an official policy to ignore Nielsen ratings.

TV doesn't work that way. ANY network with commericals gets ad rates to pay for the show based on the ratings. Even cable...
