Default Marcia suddenly friends with her worst emeny?

I just noticed something recently I never saw before. Well, on TVland the other night (or morning) the episode "My Sister Benedict Arnold" aired with Marcia dating Warren Mulaney, Gregs worst enemy. Well, Greg gets back at her by dating Marcia's enemy- Kathy Lawrence. At the end of the episode they never say anything about them becoming friends with each other.

A few episodes later "The Personality Kid" airs. Marcia is in the family room with her friend trying to cheer Peter up and her friend is KATHY LAWRENCE. Or at least it was the same actress- I'm not sure if her name was Kathy.

But I thought that was weird that they're suddenly friends with each other!

That was indeed Kathy Lawrence in "The Personality Kid", and she's called Kathy by name. But continuity was never a hallmark of "The Brady Bunch". Or perhaps Marcia felt so bad about her (and "Warn" Mullaney) being used in the previous episode that she made an extra effort to be her friend.

Good call TV Guy!

Yea, that is what I would consider a continuity problem. You raise another good point, the times in "My Sister Benedict Arnold" where Marcia calls Warren "Warn."

"My Sister Benedict Arnold" is one of the best episodes of the series. I liked it when the kids had realistic conflicts and situations with each other!

I never even noticed that before. I guess Warren and Warn sound almost exactly alike I didn't notice any difference.

Actually, The Personality Kid was filmed before My Sister Benedict Arnold. In syndication, episodes aired in production order, so, this continuation problem didn't occur. However, TV Land insists on airdate order.

I just can't get used to watching the episodes in the airdate order. I grew up on the production order on local stations and TBS.

No matter what the episode order, there's still a continuity problem if Marcia is best friends with a girl in one episode, and mortal enemies with her the next.

Actually, that's typical Marcia. If you recall, in Brace Yourself, she was friends with Alan and that with a bat of an eye, she hated him. You backstab Marcia, you're on the bottom of her list, no matter who you are. Which can be said about Cindy in The Possible Dream, or Alice in Vote for Brady.

The Personality Kid did in fact originally air the week after My Sister, Benedict Arnold, but maybe the producers knew what the airdate order would eventually be. Kathy Lawrence was very nice to be Marcia's "worst enemy" in any case, and maybe they made up just after, as someone else suggested. The girl reminds me a bit of Sherwood Schwartz's daughter, Hope, who appeared in four different eps as three different girls. One example of eps aired out of production order on purpose happened a short time later. Near the end of the last season, the first ep produced w/ Oliver was Two Petes in a Pod, but the ep that introduced him, Welcome Aboard, was filmed immediately after.

I have to admit that you have a point. Remember how quickly she turned on her "best friend" Jenny Wilton in "The Slumber Caper"? Or boyfriend Jeff in "Marcia Gets Creamed"?
