He came up with some classics. Besides the cross-dressing and the fake letters from home, Klinger tried outright desertion several times.

What episode was it where he flew away on the glider and was almost successful? I know it was from the Blake era (first three seasons).

Klinger's glider escape certainly was one of the most surreal moments from the show. I doubt they would have tried such a crazy gag during the later seasons.
Still, it's a damn funny bit.

oh yea, that's a HILARIOUS episode!!!

Nurse: "What is it?"

Hawkeye: "I'm not sure."

Nurse: "What did it look like?"

Hawkeye: "A big red bird, with fuzzy pink feet."

Trapper (walking up): "Hey Hawk, did you see that?"

Hawkeye: "What did you see?"

Trapper: "A big red bird, with fuzzy pink feet."

Hawkeye (turning to nurse) "See, I told you!"

One of my favourites of the Henry Blake era!

I loved how he had his feet "peddling", with the black hairy legs against the bright pink slippers, as he slowly glided along.....

I thought it was funny when margaret walked past klinger and klinger acted like shed walked into the camel.
