I got the info I didn't want to hear this afternoon. My buddy gave me a real quick call to tell me the show has been officially cancelled.
Since he's connected on the inside I have to take it as gospel now. Especially when he told me he was going to sell all of his scripts now. Arrgh!Apparently it isn't enough to have quality programming on TV anymore. Maybe we'll get lucky and they will make one more episode to tie up all the loose ends. I guess we'll see all those scripts he has on ebay now! No consolation though. Sorry everyone. I'm just a messenger trying to keep everyone up to date. Now I'm off to sulk.

Maybe if they had Meg and Roxanne dress like Paris and Nicole they would have had a hit!
Sad but true! |

Where is he selling them? I want to own a peice of this show. If it's gone that is. This totally sucks. I'll write a super angry post later. I'm too numb to write one now.

This guy won't even fess up and reveal the name of his "source" at the show (who could be an errand boy on the set for all we know). If the decison was made and announced yesterday, we all would have heard something by now. I'll wait for the official word from NBC.

I don't watch this show, but I wanted to stop in and say this. If the show was really canceled NBC would have made an annoucement. so until they do the show is not dead yet.

I've seen some of your other posts and you seem to be someone who honestly does care about AD.
For this reason, I believe you. It's news we all dread, but aren't surprised by, what with the way this year has gone compared to all the other years. It's kind of like the "writing on the wall". Peace. |

Im american and I do not prefer sex and violence or Reality tv. And in Season 4 Meg and Roxanne will never dress like Paris and Nicole because that would be dreadful.
But I'm with Dr.Phillip right now. If anyone gets mad at me for thinking the show isn't dead yet.Well than I'm sorry if that angers you I won't post here with my positivity no more. I got to go sorry. Mel

I did some research and found this:
Meanwhile, word is that the fate of NBC's "American Dreams" has now been sealed, and the period drama, long considered a long shot for renewal, will not return next season. NBC declined comment Thursday. The link for this info is http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20050429/...NlYwMlJVRPUCUl |

I'm glad an offical link was posted, but I don't know what I'm going to do. I try to aviod politcal rantings, but damn it! Where are all those values voters from the election. They talk about wanting good family television, one comes along, and they don't watch it. How can this happen? "American Dreams" was my favorite show. How are we going to find out what happens to everyone. I wanted to see Meg at Woodstock, and Will have his first kiss. I wanted to see Trip become Will's age. I wanted to see JJ's reaction to the Tet Offensive. I wanted to see Jack's reaction to Watergate. I wanted to see how Helen and Beth delt with the Women's Movement. I can't beleive it's gone. It's like losing a friend, or 13 good friends. How are we going to find out what happens? I can only take some comfort in knowing everyone else on the board is just as saddned as I am.

I'm completely bummed, but not surprised. We did all we could. I wish I could say the same for NBC and the viewing public. I will give NBC credit for giving it a 3rd season which, judging by Season 2's ratings, it shouldn't have.

I'll tell you where all the "values voters" are Sarah. There all off watching cop shows because really what they are are bloodthirsty, vengeful people. They get their rocks off on watching criminals suffer, and they have a fetish for punishment and revenge. Fact of the matter is that American Dreams was too sophisticated a show for the childlike American public, which has proven time and time again that it cannot handle enlightening programming.

I haven't really posted at this board, but I never missed a single episode of American Dreams. I am deeply disappointed over its cancellation. This show had a lot of heart, great storylines, music, actors. I just can't believe it's over.
