Snippet from 1986-1988?

I have a tape that ive found that was used as a time shifting tape in my house starting maybe in the spring of 1986. At the beginning, it has a very breif leftover snippet from a scene from family ties (at least I'm pretty sure it is), that id like to identify which episode its from. I know for sure that its from late march 1986 or later (because we bought our first vcr that month). The snippet has Michael J Fox on the righthand side, and a woman with long, blonde curly on the left (maybe tina yothers?). Michael is wearing a red sweater, and the woman is wearing black. Michael is talking, and moving his hands around. The only words that he says that i can make out are-"It would be very helpful...." thats all it says (since the sound faded on that machine when something was being erased). Any one know what this is from?
