Default Questions???

So I am sitting here bored out of my mind at work wishing I could go home and watch some of season 1. But I can't! Why? Because I can't afford season 1. If American Dreams is as unpopular as the ratings and news articles indicate, why is the price of the DVDs still so darn high? It would be logical to conclude that if the show is so unpopular, the DVDs would not be selling well and the price of the DVDs would be lowered. It's a matter of supply and demand. Perhaps, the show is just not doing as bad as everyone is leading us to believe. I really hope, this is an indication of at least how well DVD sales are doing. It would be great news.

I thought the same thing. I ended up going to a used DVD store and found season one for $33. The closest I found it to that price was WalMart at $71.

It's expensive becuase of the songs. It's something involving publishing rights. Basically, if they wanted the songs in the DVD, they had to pay major bucks for them. As a result, the DVD is expensive.

That sounds right. Just like The Wonder Years-your avator-won't come out on DVD or is having problems because of the music copyrights.

The cheapest place I have found it is directly through NBC. They have it for $62.99, and you get free shipping.

Go here to buy it:

My buddy got me a copy (that he had signed by all the actors ) for $49 down in Hollywood. It was a cutout package (has a little notch cut out of the package). I don't know how common those are but I would look at smaller video and music stores or even better, places that carry used DVDs.
