Default Thoughts On Jerry & Millie

I've notice for many years that Jerry & Millie Helper were never as good a match as Rob & Laura were. Has anyone else? If so, do you think this was intentional, or that it just evovled that way for the sake of comedy?

I'm sure it was done on purpose. Actually, there marriage appeared more like most people's marriages I think. Rob and Laura were exceptional.

btw - how come the address in the pic is wrong? Jerry & Millie lived at 146 Bonny Meadow Road not 150!! Rob & Laura were at 148.

TripperFan,
It was an educated guess, since I couldn't seem to find the episode that mentions the address! By the time I did (#69, "Too Many Stars"), I'd finished my Photoshop project, and have been very busy (that also translates into "too lazy to go back and redo it").
I wondered how long it would take some dyed-in-the-wool, TDVDS fanatic to spot my goof, after I posted it. Congrats! You did it in less than an hour and fifteen minutes!
Darn!

Nuuck, nuuck, nuuck! Not bad eh? Pretty observant!! Hope that isn't too anal!

Yeah, I'll always remember their address from the ep where Millie is auditioning for the PTA annual show and she gives her full name and address before launching into her self-written song.

"but now I'll KILLLLLLLL myself..........I'm funny that way.........."

Wow, Steve, I'm surprised you'd make a mistake like that! I know, I know, you are busy. Love the correction, however! Is that picture taken in front of your house?

No, Lolac, but if it were my house, I'm sure I'd have to address it, "148 Bonnie Meadow Road!" How could I not?

It's perfect now Steve!!! Thumbs up on the correction!!

(Reminds me of a street in my town where people are allowed to number their house whatever they want!!! #12 could be right next to #144 - its really strange!!! Luckily it's a fairly short street!!!)

I always found comfort in the fact that Millie and Jerry's marriage seemed more "normal" -- more representative of what I could realistically imagine a good marriage might be like. They fought but, as Rob explained it to Ritchie, they did love each other; they just did it at the top of their lungs. (And when they were starting to fight a little too much, it concerned them enough to seek out a marriage counselor.) For me, they provided a nice reality check, an occasional grounding of the TV version of suburban marriage when Rob and Laura took it to idyllic extremes.

If we're being nit-picky, the actual lyric is: "but first I'll kill myself...", which is even funnier.

You are right my friend!! (Sorry - I've got a head cold at the moment and I'm not thinking as clearly as I might normally)!!

And I fully agree with the Jerry and Millie observation. !

Thanx!!

Yesterday morning TVLand aired the ep where Rob's allergic to the cat Ritchie and Freddie were keeping in the garage. Between Rob and myself, the sneezing was in full surround sound here!!

(and now I've got Millie's stupid song running thru my head!!)
