Default Why Do NBA Throwback Jerseys Cost So Much?

I don't understand why old jerseys like Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell, Jerry West, Oscar Robertson, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Julius Erving, Wes Unseld, Earl Monroe, Magic Johnson, Walt Frazier cost so much. Remember old Chicago Bulls road uniforms when Michael Jordan was a rookie? Chicago was spelled in cursive on the road uniform LOL. Those were the days. I wish i could get my hands on some old NBA jerseys for cheap. They ain't gotta be authentic. I just want some for cheap like at least $30. These are some jerseys i want.

Larry Bird-Celtics road uniform
Patrick Ewing-Knicks road uniform
Charles Barkley-Sixers road uniform
Bernard King-Bullets & Knicks road uniforms
Reggie Lewis-Celtics road uniform
Isiah Thomas-Pistons road uniform
Joe Dumars-Pistons road uniform
Dominique Wilkins-Hawks road uniform
Michael Jordan-Bulls road uniform when he was a rookie & his later years road uniform
Ron Harper-Cavs blue road uniform(when he was a rookie, he also wore orange road uniform but the blue one looks better)
Chuck Person-Pacers black road uniform in the early 90's(i wouldn't mind having his rookie Pacers road uniform either)
Alex English-Nuggets road uniform
Akeem Olajuwon-Rockets road uniform
David Robinson-Spurs road uniform
Magic Johnson-Lakers road uniform
Xavier Mcdaniel-Sonics road uniform
Clyde Drexler-Blazers road uniform
Tim Hardaway-Warriors road uniform
Chris Webber-Warriors & Bullets road uniforms
Latrell Sprewell-Warriors road uniform
Mitch Richmond-Warriors road uniform

My guess is the old schoolers didn't make the money on endorsements, and they are probably trying to give credit to those who came before them. Answer this question, do you think people that wore the old jerseys, are they getting paid off of a jersey that sells?

It's a possibility the old NBA players could be gettin paid for people buying their jerseys. I just think it's ridiculous to pay $100-$400 for a old jersey because it's authentic. The thing that's so stupid about it is that young blacks will buy them because they think the jerseys look good & they don't even know who the players are that they're wearing hahahahahahahahaha. They see rappers wearing the old jerseys so they think it's cool to sport them also LOL. Boy i tell young black teenagers are so ignorant. They'll pay a ridiculous price for sneakers & clothes just to brag about it & then they'll make fun of the teenagers who can't afford that stuff.

I hate to agree with you about our people, but you are right.

I remember when i was a teenager, my father liked to shop at cheap stores like Marshall's & Value City to buy school clothes for me. He even bought me a pair of Patrick Ewing sneakers at Marshall's. So when i went to school, this ignorant ni**a dissed me because i was wearing those shoes but during the time, those shoes were supposed to be popular. To this day, i didn't like the fact that my father bought me cheap clothes & sneakers when i was a teenager. Now that i'm old enough to buy my own clothes, i don't buy cheap clothes. I like to wear name brand stuff but i ain't paying a ridiculous price for clothes & sneakers. My favorite sneakers are Nike especially the black Nike sneakers. I love black sneakers. I think they make the best sneakers & plus all the top athletes are with Nike.

Yeah, I'm a black Nike wearer myself. I used to wear cheap clothes to school and people use to make fun of me. I remember those Ewings (They must have took them off the market) I never had no Jordans-I couldn't afford them. People thought if you didn't wear Jordans or Ewings you weren't "in". It just trip me out how people look down on you because of the clothes you wear. Hell, they live in the hood just like me! Black people worship the ghetto, but they also claim they got money because the clothes they wear. I don't get it.

It baffles me too how blacks can make fun of people who don't wear expensive clothes like them. Everybody can't afford expensive gear & sneakers. I got a pair of Jordans but mine are black. I remember when people used to wear red & white Jordans back in the day. People also got robbed & killed over his shoes. Blacks who live in the ghetto & buy expensive stuff are ignorant. That's why they're still in the ghetto cause they don't know how to save money & they're uneducated. Ignorant blacks will buy expensive stuff & ain't hardly got no food in the refrigerator hahahahahahahaha.
