It was about a middle-aged man who ran an antique store, or some kind of store, in a town near a mountain. One day he just disappeared and was never heard from again. An author heard about the disappearance, thought it would make a good story and moved to that town. He started to do research into the man's disappearance and even took over the antique store. And then the writer disappeared too?

That has always been my favourite case but for the life of me I can't remember the names of either man or the town. I was just looking at TVTome.com's listings and the closest I can find is the June 20, 1990 episode that mentions a Chicago mystery writer who disappeared in Colorado where he had gone to write.

Yes thats one of my favorite cases. His name is Keith Reinhard. I was curious if he was ever found. I think the name of the town was Silver Plume.
