Default an annoying trend at SNL lateley

hi all of us snl fans like me love when former cast members come back to host but ive noticed something during the last 2 alumni shows spade last month and aykroyd in 03 that really annoys me and im wondering if it dissappoints you too. and that is both shows didnt have any of the bits that spade or aykroyd made famous as cast members i mean for example spade comes back after almost 5 years away and no hollywood minute or any other old sketch ether aykroyd comes back and no blues brothers no irwin mainway no coneheads no nothing just sketches that any host could have done i for one love to see old cast members in new stuff but for years there was a balance when former cast members returned to host usally 2 or three old bits and the rest new but lately all we have been getting is the new. i think its a huge dissapointment for the home and studio audence when a former cast member returns and we dont see one thing that we want to see i bring this up because there is are unconfirmed reports that will ferell is coming back next month to host and plug his movie and i just hope he dosent follow this new trend. does anyone else feel shortchanged by the lack of old bits from alumni hosts? ps this is the same topic that i posted at an snl site last month and got cussed out for by the members for my seeming lack of grammer and iniabillaty to make it readable. but i know my friends here at so have no such problems with reading and understanding anything i say and if you do you are much too ploite to say anything the peabrains over there could take lessons from all of you here. sorry if i did go on too long

I don't remember Aykroyd hosting in 2003...what movie did he have coming out then? (that would be the only reason for him to come back)...

I hated when Aykroyd was on in 2000 or so and did his stupid Blues Brothers thing with John Goodman... I was never a blues brothers fan to begin with, and that promo was totally shameless...

Yeah, it's kind of disappointing, but I don't really expect much when an alumni comes back to host... usually they're just plugging a movie, and that's what EVERYONE who hosts does...

Will Ferrell came back last night (5/14) and brought back his alex trebek celebrity jeopardy thing...that was great... the girl who played Ozzie Osbourn's wife was fantastic... and Sean Connery is always funny, although he was rather crude last night... (one category was "Japan US Relations" and Connery referred to it as "Jap AnUS relations"...

you get the idea...

but it was a funny skit... I didn't see the rest of the show, so I don't know what else Ferrell did....

No Problem about the caps, don't give it another thought...

Sounds like I'll have to watch for the rerun of this show this summer...

Ah, the CD Promo for the "blues" brothers...that explains that ..thanks!

I kind of like snl now, I usually like weekend update when I see it..i think the two girls do a great job (Tina Fey and I forget the other girl's name).

I love seeing old cast members host. Will Ferrell did a great job. Celebritiy Jeapordy was still awesome, I was just disappointed they didn't do the LuVaHs skit
