Now when Family Matters began airing on ABC Family about a year and a half ago I was very excited to see that they aired the full theme song and also the original theme in the Pilot. It seemed to me that this station did not air family matters like the other stations had in the past 10 years before that when Family Matters was in Syndication. The other stations would just cut the theme on every episode to the shortened version and many good scenes and opening tags and jokes were cut out of the episodes. Thanks to ABC Family we now have these back and the long lost scenes and tags are now back. What are some scenes or tags you have noticed that ABC Family has broughten back to us here are some I noticed.
The episode in Season 4 when Steve and Carl are in the Hospital ABC Family Restored a scene when Steve says to Lt. Murtah "Hi Lew!" and Murtah turns around and says "Hey nerd what are you doing here" and Steve explains to him his operation and explains about the medicine he had to take to numb the pain so he wouldn't feel anything (I forgot what it's called) and Murtah says something like "Wimp" A scene in the Garage Sale episode from the first Season when Eddie takes an Old Archie Comic out of one of the boxes and sits down and starts reading it, and Laura tells him if he doesn't help out with the Garage Sale, she won't let him use the VCR they buy with the money and Eddie says something like "Boy that Jughead sure is funny" In the episode from Season 3 when Rachel's Place is destroyed by the Dragons right after they get the bad new and everyone rushes out of the hosue there is a restored scene when Steve says something to Laura about being afraid and scared and how he wants to protect her. I can't remember exactly what he said. An opening Tag was restored in the episode from Season 5 called "Scenes from a Mall" when Steve Urkel comes in and someone says on a Loud Speaker "Attention everyone! Steve Urkel is now entering the Mall" and all the stores put their gates up and close up, and Steve says something like "Ya know that trick is getting just a little bit old" or something like that. What are some new scenes you guys have noticed that ABC Family has that the other stations always cut out?

This is not really a scene just an added line. When Eddie crashed the car in the living room and Carl yells "There is a car in the living room" like three times and Rachel says "Well at least now we know where it is" Rachel never said that in the original ABC airing.

Another one in season 1 where Laura, Eddie and Judy ditch Urkel in a game of hide and seek. At this time Rachel is taking a shower and Steve walks in on her and she screams and Urkel says "Sorry Rachel" and he says "WOW" and he runs out. I don't remember that scene when it first aired maybe it did but I was so young when the 1st season came out.

It's quite possible that ABC Family has added cut scenes that were never even in the original broadcasts and never made it to TV before.

Actually Steve said "Ya know the mall has the most weirdest hours, everytime I come here it's closed." |
