All the songs from "Labyrinth" (by one of my idols, David Bowie, who also played the goblin king Jareth) and Neil Diamond's version of "The Jazz Singer" (Yes, the movie was terrible--and Neil is NO actor LOL--but the songs were up to his usual high standard!).
Everything in "West Side Story", "My Fair Lady", and "Phantom of the Opera". "Where is Love?" and "As Long as He Needs Me" from "Oliver". "By My Side" from "Godspell". "I Don't Know How to Love Him" from "Jesus Christ Superstar". (Can you tell I love Broadway and/or West End musicals put on film LOL?) "It Might Be You" from "Tootsie". "How Deep is Your Love?" from "Saturday Night Fever". The theme from "Neverending Story". "Lara's Theme" from "Dr. Zhivago". "Too Beautiful to Last" from "Nicholas and Alexandra" "A Time for Us" from the 1968 version of "Romeo and Juliet". (The last three were played before the ceremony at my wedding ).Oh, and my favorite song intended for a movie that didn't make it: "Always" by Bon Jovi, which was written for the movie "Romeo is Bleeding" (Hence the opening line, "This Romeo is bleeding, but you can't see his blood"). |

You hear that sort of thing in a lot of places. That's not my milieu. Rock and roll is good-time music. I love rock. So did my parents. |
