I remember hearing 2005, but no word as of yet.
S&S is definately my favorite of all the hour-long 80's action shows that Universal has the rights to. It was good clean fun and the two actors had such wonderful chemistry you believed they were brothers even though they look nothing alike. |

It comes on a local station of mine. I watch it sometime after Cagney and Lacey. it has a lot of comedy at time.

The premise was: Rick and A.J. were brothers who couldn't be more polar that were private detectives in San Diego. Rick (Gerald McRaney) was the older brother who was very butch and informal and was a Vietnam vet, always wearing a cowboy hat and jeans. AJ (Jamison Parker) was the hotshot, clean-cut, conservative pretty boy brother who was more by the book. It was a really fun show and I liked it more than Magnum or any of the type of shows from the era. There were some episodes played just for laughs, and there were also heavy handed drama episodes, like the episode where their mother gets assaulted, and when Rick and A.J. find out the truth of what happened to their late father. The best seasons were the middle years when Tim Reid played Downtown Brown, but I liked episodes from all eight seasons. It was a top 10 hit for a few seasons, but died out in the mid 80's because CBS had it scheduled on Thursdays, first up against Cosby/Family Ties, and then later against Cheers/Night Court. Needless to say, it's days as a top 10 hit were over. It was actually cancelled after the sixth season but CBS brought it back for two more limited seasons in 87-88. All in all, definately a show that will be worth getting on DVD. I used to love watching it when WGN aired it at night several years back. |

Simon and Simon was always one of my favorite shows. I would hope it would come to DVD eventually.

I hope this show makes it out on DVD. I like it a lot. I never watched it during its original run. I discovered it in syndication on WGN. Great show.

It's on here at 1 o'clock every weekday afternoon in Houston, so every now and then I'll watch it. I'd love to see it make a dvd release.
