Cool The Debbie Gibson Thread!

I love this girl! And to think I only got into her because I mixed her up with Kim Wilde, the girl who sang "Kids In America". . I love her songs, and I love how she had a body, but didn't have a body. I mean, she didn't show off her body and use sex to sell her music. She had(has) talent and a nice voice. At 16, she wrote all of her 10 songs on Out Of The Blue, and also co-produced them. At barely 18, she did the same for the songs on Electric Youth. She was the youngest singer to do this and have a string of #1 hits. What really amazes me about her voice is that it's so clear and uninterrupted by background music, like many singers today, where the music is basically louder than their voices.. You can actually her what she is singing and basically don't need a lyric booklet to understand what she is singing because her voice is so clear. I have two of her albums, Out Of The Blue and Electric Youth.

I love Debbie's music, too. She is good. I love her songs: "Only In My Dreams", 'Out of the Blue", "Shake Your Love", "Red Hot" and "Wake Up To Love".

Though, I like Tiffany's music, I must say Debbie is the better singer of the two in the late 1980 because Debbie wrote her own songs. You're right about some of the music today being louder than the singer's voices. I think it's also a shame that a lot of young singers today like for example Jessica Simpson don't write a lot of their own songs. It's sad. I think there needs to be more singers in the music industry like Debbie Gibson. If only the music industry knew that looking natural and being real was cool.

I also think it was cool that Debbie didn't flaunt her body in music videos. I see too much of that kind of stuff in Britney Spears's music videos and other singer's music videos of today.

Anyway, yeah, Debbie's music is awesome.

I have debbie's greatest hits album... I like her. I don't like the fact that she posed in playboy though.

I am not even mad at her for posing in Playboy. She did it after she made a big name for herself and while still retaining her cookie cutter, sweet candy girl next door Debbie she was in the '80's. And,you only see her back I think. I don't think it was a fronmtalnudity shot.

Kim Wilde was a better singer. Her father Marty Wilde was big in England in the sixties.

I really only liked Debbie (or Deborah as she prefers being called) during her first album, I loved Only In My Dreams and Foolish Beat.

I always love Debbie Gibson, but I like one of her songs like "Only in My Dreams", "Lost in Your Eyes", "Foolish Beat", "Staying Together", "Shake Your Love" and others. I have the Playboy magazine that I bought last winter with Debbie Gibson on it. She was close to Tiffany where she was posed for Playboy four years ago. That's interesting.

She didn't look very happy shooting Playboy though. And that may be a good thing.
