Good Reggae music bands - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Does anyone know of any good reggae music bands? I'm thinking of writing a song that would go to reggae music, but I'm not too familiar with a lot of reggae. It would be great if anyone could reccommend some reggae music that I could download and listen to, to get an idea of the style. Thanks in advance.

Depends on what type of reggae you're talking about. Dancehall reggae is one thing. If you mean good reggae, go back to the old school: Peter Tosh, Jimmy Cliff, Third World, Burning Spear, Richie Stephens and basically anyone named Marley: Bob, Rita, Ziggy, Damian, etc.

The good old school reggae was what I had in mind. Thanks for the list of reggae artists. I'll listen to some of the music and see if I can get a good feel of the music to write a reggae type song of my own. Thanks a bunch.
