I thought it would be interesting to know how many of you tape UM and have your own collection of favorite stories?
I have tons of my favorites recorded. |

Of course I tape, but I have to admit I got into the game late. It was only here recently that I got a TIVO, so while I am at work, I can watch and record later.

I probably started recording original broadcasts around 1991 or so. Unfortunately, I just taped certain segments, and not entire episodes. I didn't start "seriously" taping whole shows until about '96 or so, but by that time the show sucked anyway. I would give just about anything for tapes of those first few years, like 87-93. Original broadcasts of course. Justin PS - Please do not email or PM me to ask for episodes. |

I started taping on Lifetime back in 1993. I stopped for a few years and resumed in 2000. It's interesting seeing the old commercials during the recordings, all these years later.
The tapes are in pretty decent shape, considering their age. I still watch them, as the ones I taped in the 90's are mainly 1987-1991 episodes, which we are lucky to get nowadays. Ditto, from the previous post, in regards to episode trading, etc. |

I have a few that are very old on tape from the original broadcasts, and when I watch them I end up watching the commercials as well since they're history as well.

I have 30 VHS tapes filled with UM. It's taken me several years to get to this point. I have segments from all of the seasons, first to the last season. I call it my UM library. I guard those tapes with my life!

I know what you mean UMfan77. If there was ever a fire, they'd be the second things I'd save, after I got my little girls out first of course.
Are you interested in tape trading? There's a few old ones I'm looking for. I also have about 500 stories on tape if there are any in particular you are looking for. Email or pm me if you're interested in possibly trading. |

I have lots of episodes scattered across tapes, some labeled and some not. Thanks to Lifetimese crappy scheduling/broadcasting order, I don't have alot of my favorite episodes on tape because they never seem to get aired (while episodes i dont care for get aired constantly).

Yeah, but I really don't have that much on tape. Only four stories in fact. Carlos Berdaja rapes kills his co-worker, Blair Adams dies far from home, Matt Flores is killed at work, And kidnapping of Angela Hammond.
I am hoping to catch these stories, I just need to get up in time to see if they are going to be aired(I have Direct TV and not cable so I get UM at 9 and 10 am, three hours before the cable times). David Hurley is shot by a stranger on a local forested road Woman named Irene kidnapped from her nightshift gas station job and later found dead Rebecca Young gets killed in a cornfield as a hunter with poor English looks on and later makes an inarticulate 911 call Norman Ladner dies sometime during a hunting trip Tina Roech sees eletrical malfuctions and objects move on their own Ted Losef is killed by hitmen supposedly hired by his ex-wife Theraputic Touch(Miracle boxset not worth buying for this one story) Bashir the former Beruit prisoner is stalked and harrassed Tammy Leppert goes missing Girl's body found in back room of her workplace by an alert security guard Woman survives car bomb that was meant for her Navy Captain husband, most likely as retaliation for his involvement in the accidental downing of a civilian Plane in the mid-east Man in Texas fakes his death using a car fire, as a means to elude both authorities and the mob. I wish Lifetime would put the details on the show schedule. Anyone have thse episodes or hoping to catch and tape them? Just curious. |

Yes, I would also like to tape the story of Irene the store clerk who was abducted and later found dead.
I do have some of those you asked about, David Hurley, Rebecca Young, Norman Ladner, Tami Leppert. The girls body who was found in the store where she worked by a security guard was I assume Tracy Kirkpatrick and I also have that one. I'm not sure which one you're talking about with the man who faked his own death to avoid the mob. Do you have a name on him? |

Actually no I don't. I think his first name was Ed, and his last name was something like Davis or Davers but I can't swear to it. I just know that he was an investor who went bankrupt in 1984 and set the car fire sometime in 1988.

I tivo the show everyday. I have some episodes on dvds that I've recorded from the tivo. Since it comes on twice a day, I don't feel the need to tivo many new episodes since they all seem to air a lot or they're just not as interesting as the old ones. How can you make a new segment anything as remotely interesting as "The Dale"

I recorded this one about a month or two ago, when Lifetime was showing the old episodes. I still get a good chuckle out of it.
