Thumbs up Who is your favorite character?

My favorite is Mr. Haney because he's so crooked and devious. In real life I'd hate him but on a comedy show he's the best. Plus he has that great voice.

Mr.Kimball, because of the continual way he would mix things up in his conversation.

"Good morning-well,it's not a good morning.Not a bad morning,either,it's more of a-"

The late Alvy Moore had the chance to do a great TV character those years.

Thumbs up

I love the character of Mr Kimball, especially that scene where he talks about getting in and out of the office via the bottom drawer of the filing cabinet!

Lisa Douglas--she's so zaney! Also, she's so accepting and open minded toward all of the people/animals in "Hootersville."

As I mentioned in the first post, Mr. Haney is my favorite character but I like Mr. Kimball a lot too.

It was great how he drove everyone, especially Mr. Douglas, crazy with his incessant rephrasing of everything he said but remember the time when he and Mr. Douglas were talking about names and Hank asked him if he knew his middle name. OWD said he didn't and Hank said, "Do you want me to tell you my middle name?" Mr. Douglas replies, "It's not necessary." Hank said, "Oh yes it is. Hank Necessary Kimball." His middle name is Necessary. I loved it!

They also had a character who installed the electric wires or phone to the pole whose name was Dave Lawler, so he was Lawler the installer. Then there was Peter Greeter the meter reader. God, I love this show.

Sad

Eva Gabor, who played Lisa Douglas. She was not only my very favorite actress, she was the idol of my youth. Her death has really affected me and I miss her so much.

As a matter of fact, when my cable company added TV Land to it's lineup in August of '97, which at the time was airing the reruns of "GREEN ACRES", I just started crying on and off. For example, for a two-week period in May of '98, I was literally crying on and off. I was even crying on the day after Frank Sinatra died, but I wasn't crying over him; I was still crying over her. I felt as though she was still alive in 1998, and I just couldn't accept the fact that she's now deceased. I just miss her so much.

Although she's gone now, she's definitely not forgotten. To me, EVA GABOR STILL LIVES!!!

TV Kiddie Show Host:
Sure, I remember that kid, he had on the most realistic looking pig costume I've ever seen. He won first prize!

Oliver Douglas:
No, you don't understand, Arnold is a REAL PIG!

TV Kiddie Show Host:
I'll say he is! We had five gallons of ice cream for those kids, and he ate every bit of it himself!
