That is from the original Pilot #3.
A Canadian friend of mine who reviewed the Fam of fright DVD for his site, sent the DVD to me and it has the whole version of that Pilot on it. The original version is supposed stop at the scene of Grandpa in the lab. |

That's what I have on this tape that I bought on Ebay a couple of years ago. It's called "The Monsters, The Munsters Unaired Pilots, TV Commercials and Promos"
It has the Joan Marshall pilot, a different cut of the DeCarlo pilot with an eerie music score, Wayne and Shuster review, the Cheerios commercial, plus a few other things. |

I don't know if they ship to non-Canadian addresses, but amazon.ca has the Family of Fright DVD set with all of the A&E Biographies and extras. The 35.99 CAD cost converts into about 29 USD, but I don't know what shipping would be.

I've bought it! Hee...hee....
Usually because I live in England, I use amazon.co.uk, but sometimes if I can't get what I want from there I have used amazon.com (the usa one) and everything has always gone well... so I thought I might as well use the amazon.ca one, it's only the same again isn't it. So I have a confirmation e-mail telling me that I can expect the delivery in the middle of May (my birthday is then!). Won't it be a nice birthday present if it all goes well - it should do, it's there to buy and gone through, so they must have it! Anyway I will let you know how it goes! Anyone else having a go? - Dracula. |

They probably had pre-copies on hand that they are still allowed to sell.
The ones I have come in plain sleves and have no pictures on the discs. They were just review discs for my friends website. |

Munsters#1, are the pilots contained on the first family of fright DVDs good quality? (i.e the color pilot - is it the same quality as it is on the season 1 DVDs?) or are they sourced from bad prints as used on the "The Munsters unaired pilots, TV commercials and Promos" VHS that has been offered on Ebay?

The color pilot is watchable, but no way near the Season 1 DVDs clarity.
They didn't even find a complete version of the Color Pilot, they just took the first 3 minutes of it, then transitioned it into the B&W Pilot. I will post pictures later

Looks to me like Universal had the original print and they've taken care of it all this time. The other ones look like caps from the DVD I bought of Munster Rarities. Really grainy. Thanks for posting them!

The only thing else with poor quality on the Family of Fright DVD is the video shot Murry the "K" sketch.
Except for some "snowflakes", everything else looks pretty good. |

The pilot with the weird music is on the Image DVD, but it's listed as "Presentation #3", when really it's the Pilot.
I'm at work now, but when I get home, do you want me to take a screenshot of the Image DVD menus? |
