Default Why?

Why is it that whenever I excerise--mostly on my parents excerise running thing--my throats burns and hurts me so bad?? I mean is it normal? Why is it happening? It makes it harder to excerise

Maybe you have some kind of respiratory problem that you don't know about.

Excersizing is horrible. Everytime I do anything physically strenuous I feel like I'm going to pass out.

Hmm. I don't know, though. I agree with the water thing.

Whenever I run my throat gets really cold and dry and I can't breath, but everyone just tells me I'm just out of shape.

Maybe it is acid reflux, and when you are running it aggravates it.
I wouldn't stop exercising though; just take some antacid stuff. But first see a doctor to make sure that's all it is.

That happens when I breath through my mouth when I ride bike(like when I go up a big hill). Try breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth.

I was going to suggest the same thing as Sterling - you're probably not aware of it, but I'll bet you're running with your mouth open the whole time. Try breathing in through your nose, and out through your mouth. Be sure to swallow in between to keep your throat moistened. It would also help keeping a bottle or glass of water next to you and keep drinking lots while exercising and afterwards.

That should help Nik. If it doesn't, then it could be an acid-reflux problem. I would then mention it to your doctor.

Thanks, and I'll talk to my doctor the next time I see him which is in late June for my check up.

Sometimes I excerise with my mouth open, but even when it's closed it hurts.

K - until you see you doctor, keeping drinking water (have your mom buy some bottled stuff or one of those Brita filters - that's what I use, otherwise I hate the taste of our water too). That, or try chewing gum (it helps keep the saliva up).

I wouldn't stop exercising though - even though it IS boring. Now that its nice out though - why not try some outdoor activities that might be a bit more fun for you. What ever happened to girls skipping - come to think of it, I never see that anymore. We used to skip all the time - and its not just for young girls or "sissies" - boxers use it as the best form of cardio workouts! I'd go out with one or more girlfriends and we'd play double-dutch if we had enough girls (which I never could figure out until I was about your age - I was such a spaz)!

Hey,

I have the same problem sometimes-- except my throat gets really dry and scratchy. If you think you're in OK shape, I'd look in to the water aspect like the others said. If you don't like your tap water, try going to Wal-mart and picking up a giant case of bottled water-- it'll last you a LONG time and it tastes better(plus, it's cheaper if you buy it in bulk). Best of luck! Hopefully you don't have asthma or anything of the sort

Drink water. And if you dont like the stuff at your house, go buy some. Unless you want to pass out out of dehydration.
