My favorite episode is the one where the Evans family finds out that James's father is actually alive after years of being told he was dead. They decide to surprise James on his birthday by inviting the father over, but James wants nothing to do with the man. Turns out he had abandoned the family when James was a little boy. I thought it was well acted and a touching episode.

Wink

I agree with Jennylee, but my most favourite has to be "the evans get involved". It's janet's favourite too, of course. Penny, in my opinion, is the best character, of course, cuz i'm a janet fan.

I have several favorite episodes. However, I'll just give a couple. I liked the episode about the neighbor who ate dog food when she didn't have any money. The family thought she actually made the meatloaf that she brought over for dinner from dog food. Another favorite is the episode when one of JJs old girlfriends tells him she has VD and she contracted it from him. Hilarious!

I would have to say these are my favorite!
(not in any particular order)

1. J.J gets shot & James and Mad Dog go to court
2. Micheal gets drunk off of Vita Brite
3. Thelma & Ebay
5. Micheal and Fungirl
6. James finds out he has hypertension

Thumbs up

I thought that Good Times was one of the most pioneering shows of its time...I have several favorite episodes..I'll say the entire first three seasons....sporadic episodes in the fourth season especially when James died vey good acting from the Evans clan....Then the final season was good.....I do hope that Nick at Night and TV Land get smart and snatch up one of the most controvsial sitcoms in history and all time favorites of mine.....I have the entire catalog almost just a few more episodes and i'm done then I'm gonna have a Good Times Party and Celebrate Good Times Style.....Here's to our show your show the Peoples show....May Good Times live on to the Next Century!!!LoveGroove is on the OUTZ!!!

I always go the morbid route and pick the most controversial trashy episodes: 1. Velma with the drinking problem...hiding the booze in the toilet tank is one. 2.Jay Jay's date gets her purse mixed up with Velma's and Florida finds heroin paraphanalia in it!Thats a two-parter and I dont think I ever saw Part 2.(Anyone got a copy?) 3. I had forgotten about Michael gettin high/drunk util I just read it here (Thank You)but thats good too. I also like the first Penny episodes where they found out she was being abused. Like I said,I take the afterschool special-type eps every time!!!!!
