Default Would you buy The Golden Palace on DVD?

Is The Golden Palace worth buying on DVD if it should somehow ever get a release? I'm really interested in some opinions.

I'd buy it if it were cheap, and then only for the sake of completion.

Absolutely, and I mean that. For starters, Bea Arthur did guest-star for a 2 part episode and she was hysterical in it, especially in the beginning: "Walk away now and no one gets hurt."

Plus, while I agree with most that the series as a whole can't compare to the calibre of The Golden Girls, it did have its strengths. It was still funny and a heck of a lot better than what is on nowadays. I think the series failed not because of the revamp of its formula but because it simply was on a dead end night: Friday. Designing Women also was cancelled that same year and it was piggy-backed with The Golden Palace on Friday nights as well. Sometimes it's the timeslots that don't work.

It doesn't match up to The Golden Girls but it still had its merit and should've lasted at least a few seasons.

I say bring it on DVD. I'd buy it for sure!

I would definitely purchase The Golden Palace if it got released on DVD. No Golden Girl collection is complete without Golden Palace.

I would also buy Golden Palace. It's a shame that it only lasted a season, I thought Cheech Marin and Don Cheadle were funny.

Hopefully the show will be released. I would have rather had The Golden Palace released first because I haven't seen it yet and I am dying to.

Glad to hear it. Now please join us in voting for it on www.tvshowsondvd.com and emailing/calling Buena Vista to release the show as well. The more the merrier as they say!

I agree. Most people didn't like Don & Cheech, but I thought they were great in this show. I to hope we hear some news on release of The Golden Palace soon. Keep calling Buena Vista.
