Default Whatever happened to Ginny the next door neighbor

Ginny didn't seem to have that many episodes, but I do recall her getting a space in the opening credits. Did they ever state a reason why she was written out, or did she just disappear like so many other TV characters? Did the viewers not like her? From what I can remember I liked the character. It seemed like Ann would get tired of her coming over sometimes, but I'm not sure.

There was never an explanation for the disapperance of the Ginny character.

Yeah that's true come to think of it.

I'm afraid I never liked her anyway - too "hard". Maybe why they wrote her out of the show - possibly there wasn't good feedback about her.

Even as a little kid I remember Ginny as being "gruff" or streetwise-like. When I think of her now she reminds me of somebody who would've danced in front of 25 cent peep-show booths in the 1960s.

For some reason Ginny reminds me of Jo Anne Worley (spelling?) from Laugh-In?

Probably because she really wasn't that great a character. I think they just used her at the very beginning of the series as a close source of conflict for Ann. She would have depended too much on Schneider still after just moving in (and he wouldn't have had enough time to grate on her nerves as he did later on).

She didn't get along with Ann and really did look a lot like Joanne Worely only with short hair. They ended up getting along better further into the series and even had them more as best friends, but then she just disappeared!!

It may also have something to do with the fact she was only on the show during the 76-77 season.

She was introduced as the new neighbor just after David moved out to California.(So from the sound of it,she had David's old apartment.)Ginny became friends with Ann and Schnieder's love interest.Like TVShow Analyzer says, she only lasted the 76/77 season, before she disappeared and was completely forgotten from that time forward.I've read from certain sources, that it was because her character didn't blend in with the show's premise.Apparaently the writers had decided that they didn't need a new neighbor in place of David after all.Personally I rather liked Ginny.

Default Is this the same Mary Louise Wilson from "ODAAT?"

This article is dated from 2001, but it is still interesting to see. I'm guessing it is the same actress who played "Ginny." Since I didn't see any Ginny clips in the reunion special I'm just guessing from memory that is the same woman.
