Default Eva defends Marcia for Vanity Fair Catfight

'Desperate' Longoria Defends Cross

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria is furious with Vanity Fair's tell-tale article about a bust-up on the magazine's cover shoot - because she insists the catfight never happened. The style mag has turned the photo shoot into a major story, claiming Marcia Cross stormed off the set after becoming upset with the special attention given to cast mate Teri Hatcher. The producers of the show and the cast have been keen to play down the catfight, insisting it was little more than a case of tired women upset by endless primping and preening on the set, but Longoria goes one step further, insisting the article is false. She says, "I'm really disappointed in the article. I think it's severely inaccurate. The pictures are so beautiful and to pair that with what they said was very very disappointing. Marcia Cross took a bullet for no reason. Teri, Nicolette Sheridan and Felicity Huffman know that she's a beautiful, wonderful, supportive human being."

Good on Eva! I'm getting really sick of all this trash about their "cat-fights".

I'm not into DH or this "catfight" thing that's going on, but I was just watching the soup which showed Teri's interview. She sure showed all the classic signs of lying about not knowing about Marcia Cross being upset. She was stammering, blinking her eyes, touching her hair, etc.. Didn't look very convincing to me.
So often with women, egos do get in the way and it can cause trouble. Look what happened with the gals from Sex In The City. By the end of the show, photographers could barely get them all together for a group photo!

P.S. - And before people start going off on me about the women's egos comment, I AM a woman myself. Hey - we're not perfect! With that said, if it was a cast of men who weren't getting along, it certainly would never have been referred to as a "catfight".

Oprah speaks up about the "fight" too, and says she doesn't believe a word of it. That the women know they have to get along, it's an ensemble, that it won't work if they don't.

Gotta say I agree with her

I think Vanity Fair blew the whole thing out of proportion to sell more magazines

Actually, as TripperFan mentioned, they can hate each other and the show can still work. I'm not a fan, but from what I've heard -- the girls on S&TC hated eachother, yet made one of the most popular, critically acclaimed series on the past decade.

Exactly! Look at Cheers - came out after that everyone hated Shelly Long, but it was a top 10 hit. Moonlighting with Bruce Willis and Cybil Shepard. I'm sure if I thought a little I could come up with more shows as well. They're professionals.

Honestly, if you have seen this interview, Eva really does look uncomfortable on what to answer. I do think that Vanity Fair likely has blown it out of proportion for sales though, but I'm sure there's some friction.

I'd be surprised if there wasn't any antimosity towards Teri.... especially considering all 3 other women have been given juicier storylines, while Susan is basically just there to help the Mike storyline progress.

Marcia Cross deserves the Emmy over Hatcher. Actually, I'd put Huffman over Hatcher too. And this is coming from someone who thinks Teri Hatcher is one of the most beautiful women in the world, and a great actress.

and then you got can have a fight like what happened on Charmed between Shannen Doherty and Alyssa Milano in which the whole set is a war zone.

Their might be something to it but I doubt its as bad as was reported.
