Default Matt Hardy Released by WWE

On WWE.com it states that Rhyno and Matt Hardy have been released, of course the Rhyno release was official last week, but I am surprised by the Matt Hardy release as he was set to return at anytime now after having been out of action since last August with knee surgery. One factor that most believe led to his release was his ex-girlfriend Lita's affair with Edge. The WWE may feel there would be too much tension if Matt Hardy returned, so they let him go since Edge and Lita are more valuable to WWE.

I Can understand Edge, But Lita is more valueable to WWE? Hardly.

WWE Made a big mistake doing this. It may not seem like much now, But I Guarentee you that if TNA Picks him up and reunites The Hardys, Its gonna be a huge draw.

If the WWE wants to keep the Women's Division, Lita is definately more valuable than Matt Hardy. Lita and Trish Stratus are the women's division, there feuds have been as good as Hogan/Savage, Austin/McMahon, Steamboat/Flair, etc.

That is an outrageous statement. There is no way that Lita/Stratus is even remotely close to fueds you have mentioned. The women's division is just filler time on tv. The majority of people could care less about that division. Besides, that division is a joke right now. There are only 4 women in it. (Trish, Lita, Victoria & Molly) Christy Hemme isn't a real wrestler so she doesn't count. Bad move by the WWE.

Definitely. Plus, Lita isnt even that great of a wrestler to begin with. She did alot of highflying and whatnot at a time when the Womens division was nothing but T&A, So She gets a reputation as being better than she really is. They could bring up Alexis Laree or some other OVW Diva and The Womens division would be pretty much the same, If not better.

Personally, I Think they should have just sent Matt back to Smackdown.

I agree with you 100%. Lita is very overrated. If they cared so much about the womens division, why did they release Jazz, Gail Kim and Nidia? They hardly use Victoria and the constantly job Molly. The division is a joke.

WWE NEWS

WWE News: Matt Hardy released by WWE following break-up with Lita

By Wade Keller, Torch editor
Apr 11, 2005, 12:02 pm

WWE.com posted this morning a message stating, "Rhyno and Matt Hardy have been released. World Wrestling Entertainment wishes them well in their future endeavors."

Hardy had just gone through months of rehab after knee surgery and was ready to return to WWE this month. His discovering that his girlfriend, Amy Dumas (Lita), had been spending time on the road with Adam Copeland (Edge) and having phone conversations with him after she suffered her injury led to their break-up. The break-up went public on the internet and led to chants at arenas.

Jeff Jarrett has remained NWA Champion because even those who don't believe he's ideal always say, "but who has the name value, experience, and popularity to replace him?" Hardy may be that answer TNA has been looking for.

3 Months after the WWE releases Matt Hardy, obviously judging by Matt Hardy's appearance on Raw earlier tonight, I assume he is back on contract. Matt Hardy was playing the gimmick of an outsider, but you can tell it was scripted and the WWE is hoping to make big money of the upcoming Matt Hardy/Edge/Lita feud which will probably end up with a huge match at Summerslam. The reactions from the fans was unbelievable when Edge and Matt were brawling and Matt certainly blew the roof off tonight. Matt's shoot comments also added a lot of fuel to the fued.

It was a work, most sites have confirmed it:

A lot of fans thought it was a shoot due to:

The commentators stopped announcing and never refered to it again all evening.

The way Matt was dragged out by the event staff and real police and WWE agents instead of WWE referees and indy talent dressed as phony police.

Matt Hardy trashing Johnny Ace, the WWE, and promoting ROH.

Calling Edge by his real name Adam, and using Bastard without the bleeps.

But there are way too many signs point to it being a work:

Why did the camera's keep rolling when Matt initially attacked Edge in the locker room?

When Kane and Snitsky started fighting in the crowd, why did Edge remain in the ring???

Why did the camera's shoot all angles of the incident and not just go to commercial???

Why wasn't Matt immediately kicked out of the building after the first incident???

When Matt grabbed the microphone, the control room could have immediately cut all the sound off the microphone backstage, but they left it on.

Of course it was a work, the WWE would've never allowed Hardy's entrance video during the Edge/Lita wedding if he wasn't coming back.

He said that it was a shoot. Also, this is what he said on the mic."Adam, you bastard, I am going to make your life miserable. And Lita, you whore, I'm going to make your life miserable too. And the WWE can kiss my ass!"

"If you guys are ready for a ride, jump the f*** on. Well, I promised you all fireworks, so I hope I didn't disappoint. As of July 11th, 2005, my personal Independence Day, the Movement has begun-- and the Movement's purpose is two-fold. Purpose one--To never let anyone control what Matt Hardy says and does and thinks. Purpose two--To make Adam Copeland, Amy Dumas, and the WWE regret what they did to me, what they did to us. It's time for Matt Hardy to stand up for all the MFer's that have been chanting 'We Want Matt', and 'You Screwed Matt.'"

I am beginning to think this Lita/Edge/Matt Hardy angle is going to lead into something big. Maybe it was the WWE's idea to release Matt Hardy in the first place and have the real life affair between Edge and Lita. I bet it will be Matt Hardy vs. Edge at Summerslam and it Matt wins, he gets his job back. Matt will win and spit on the WWE and he will lead a team of disgruntled employees back to the WWE, being the 18 or so superstars who were released this past week, setting up an nWo angle. With all the firings last week, they have been hyped more than they should have been, usually when a superstars gets released, WWE.com barely acknowledges it.
