The little boy who was added to the show while Mackenzie Phillips was temporarily during 1980-81 season, just wanted to know was he written out of the show by May 21, 1984? I watchedthe last appearance of Ann Ramono today once she moved to London for a job and was wondering where Alex was in 83-84 season or was he just absent from that particular episode?

I'm not sure when he was written out of the show, but I remember that I totally hated him! I found him annoying.

Good question, I'd like to know myself. It has been awhile since I've seen this show, so I don't remember much.

I think it is either the first or second show in the last season where Ann and Sam come back from their honeymoon. Barbara's husband, Mark welcomes Ann back and she congratulates him on starting his dental practice. While standing at the door (Ann is complaining about Sam) Mark mentions that Alex went East to live with his mother.
BTW, the last episode where Ann leaves for England sounds interesting. Were all the players on the series at that time in it? Was Julie made mention of? I've seen an archived copy of the last episode which was a pilot for Schneider, but that episode is extremely lame. The episode where Ann leaves seems like it was a much better show. |

Yes Julie was mentioned in the last episode Ann appeared in, Ann read a letter from Julie in that episode. |

As for Alex, he should've left when Ron Rivkin did, he was a weak character and it is totally illogical that he would stay with Ann after his father died and that Schneider added on a room for him. |

As I said before I hated Alex. Even seeing the clips on the reunion didn't make me like him. The show probably could've ended right before they added him to the cast. Whenever they try adding new main characters to shows it usually seems like those shows are starting to go down the tubes.
Oh, does anybody remember seeing Alex in "Jennifer Slept Here" with Ann Jillian. I think that was on in 1983 or 84. I remember watching it in junior high school. I think the song went something like "Jennifer slept here, but she never really lived here."

To this day I haven't seen the Schneider spin-off episode. I decided not to watch it and count this as the last episode. |

I honestly don't think I have ever seen the Schenider spin-off episode. I can remember seeing the episode with Ann walking out of the empty apartment looking back from the doorway with a sad look on her face. I always thought that was the final episode. I never thought to tune-in the next week.

You did the right thing because that episode with Ann walking out was the finale. That next episode was a possibe set up episode for a Schneider spinoff which would have been a disaster-LOL |

It would've been a disaster. I heard Corey Feldman was supposed to have been in the spinoff show. Instant failure right there!

I have to check, but I don;t think Barbara was in that episode after Ann leaves. But I think that episode with Ann will always be the real finale of ODAAT. |
