Ive just been surfing the Barnes and Noble site, and imagine my surprise to see the following title, due for May release...

"From the Files of Unsolved Mysteries, The Sleeperwalker Killing...", by New Look and John Cosgrove..!

what are we to make of this???

That's a movie based on an UM story... NOT an actual boxset. I remember Lifetime did a day of "From the Files of Unsolved Mysteries" back several years ago and I watched that movie. Frrrreeeeaaakkkky.

and there was me getting excited, oh well...my ignorance of the movie thing comes from living in the UK..sorry for getting peoples hopes up

Yeah Lifetime did a bunch of made for TV movies from Unsolved Mysteries......i remember the one about the woman who can back to life in ghost form to her friend to name her killer and he was actually convicted of the murder.

I know there were others too but i cannot remember which ones. Can anyone help us out??

There were four UM TV-movies, and they are as follows:

Victim of Love: The Shannon Mohr Story (1993)
Escape from Terror: The Teresa Stamper Story (1994)
Voice From The Grave (1996)
The Sleepwalker Killing (1997)

Shannon Mohr was the wife of Dave Davis. It was the first story on the 1st Robert Stack-hosted episode... before it was even a regularly scheduled show. She was killed after he injected her with poison while they were riding horses. He said she had fallen off her horse. Found out later he had taken out life insurance on her totaling more than $300,000.

Teresa Stamper I remember less about, but did see the story. Her husband was really abusive.

The murder of Shannon Mohr Davis has also been the subject of an episode of Forensic Files, entitled "Horse Play."

Teresa Stamper was, indeed the woman who was abused by her husband Paul. After leaving him, she had a new boyfriend. One night, Paul Stamper followed them, using a police siren as a ruse to get them to pull over. He shot the boyfriend, and kidnapped Teresa (who eventually got away). Fortunately, her boyfriend survived.

Paul Stamper was soon arrested and charged with kidnapping and attempted murder, but escaped from jail in 1986. He was featured on UM during the 1990-91 season, and was captured in 1991. My understanding is that he was convicted of kidnapping and attempted murder, and is serving a life sentence in prison.
