1. She's So Unusual- Cyndi Lauper
2. Parallel Lines -Blondie (well, they were a band fronted by a woman)
3. Fever- Kylie Minogue
4. Come Away With Me- Norah Jones
5. Little Earthquakes-Tori Amos
6. AutoAmerica-Blondie
7. Like A Virgin-Madonna
8. Horses-Patti Smith
9. Exile on Guyville-Liz Phair
10. Kylie-Kylie Minogue

Off the top of my head, I'd pick MeShell Ndegeocello's debut, Plantation Lullabies. She talks about sex, religion and politics without fear. One of the boldest, most blunt women I've ever heard. She writes her own stuff and she's funky as hell.
