Default The Oldsmobile Picture Thread

Here's a 1972 Oldsmobile 442 W-30. I'd like to add that I encourage the posting of other types of Oldsmobiles on this thread besides muscle cars.

Here are some old ones. A 1901 model, and a 1905 model. The '05 one is at the Suffolk County Historical Society Museum.

Here's a 1973 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser station wagon!

Looks like a hearse with the tailfins and rear wheel well skirts, no?

With Oldsmobile gone and with SUV's the new family haulers, this car represents two things you'll see a lot less of soon - Oldsmobiles and station wagons!

Very nice '72 Olds 442! If I was driving that, it would be hard for me to resist lighting the tires!

And that nice, big wagon looks nice, too. I'd much rather have that than a modern SUV. For one thing, the wagons had a better ride.

Here's another car. This time, it's a Rocket 88 from Oldsmobile.

That car was named after Jackie Brenston's very first rock & roll record back in 1951 called "Rocket 88".

Nothing says Oldsmobile like the Cutlass Supremes of the seventies and eighties! This Cutlass Supreme is a 1987 model.

The Cutlass Supreme was Oldsmobile's entry in the intermediate "personal luxury" coupe market. For those of you too young to remember, personal luxury coupes were stylish-looking, conservative coupes for middle-aged suburbanites who wanted something less stodgy than a sedan but less flashy than a 2+2 sports coupe. Plus, they were for people who listened to Barry Manilow. The Cutlass Supreme pictured here has a slightly less conservative trim package.

I wouldn't say station wagons are dead yet, but here's a Custom Cruiser I like much better -- the last ones from 1991 and 1992.

And it's not one that has been given Chevy Impala SS parts either.

The Cutlass Supreme was more rounded in appearance, and sportier, Here's a 1996 model.

This was not your father's Oldsmobile.
