WITH FAMILY & FRIENDS 1969 Here's a great one-hour color TV special from 1969 with Frank Sinatra Jr. as the host. It takes place in Las Vegas and has Frank Sinatra Jr. visiting various friends and family that was currently playing the nightclubs at that time. Features Frank Jr. doing a duet with his father Frank Sinatra on stage with some great clowning around! You also get to see Jack Benny and Jack E. Leonard doing some nice period standup live on stage, Nancy Sinatra sings Many gs Light My Fire among a bunch of old neon signs. Other guests include: The Doodletown Pipers, Arte Johnson, The Suzy Arden Show, Wayne Cochran and The C.C. Riders, Ireland s Royal Show Band and more! There are some great vintage 1960 s Las Vegas strip shots in this show, good period stuff! Note: the opening credits also list Sammy Davis Jr.; this must have been cut out of my print because it isn t there. Color Kinescope. "Rodney Dangerfield's Guide to Golf Etiquett (1998) This video showcases the comedic talents of Rodney Dangerfield. As in"Caddyshack" he specializes in wreaking havoc on the golf course. He and his buxom, blonde girlfriend play a round of golf in an exclusive country club with a stuffy, middle-aged couple. Rodney cracks inappropriate jokes, has a pizza delivered on the golf course, and sets up beach chairs in the sand trap. By the end of the round of golf, the other couple have loosened up considerably. This hilarious outing is followed by a couple of sketches from his old TV specials.( 40 minutes) Rodney Dangerfield: I Can't Take it No More. The guy who "don't get no respect", proves once again that he'll do whatever it takes to make you laugh. You'll flip over "Flashpants", with Rodney as an exotic dancer who dreams of becoming a Welder, and Angie Dickinson as the hot-blooded steel-mill owner who's carrying a "torch" for him. You'll savor side-splitting sketches with Rodney as the "maitre d" of a hot dog stand, Donna Dixon's blind date from hell, and the founder off Camp Ha Ha established to keep funny kids from going serious. And, you'll see why he's one of the funniest guys around when he joins Robert Urich at a Loser's Anonymous meeting and Andy Kaufman as his notorious doctor. (47 minutes) It's Not Easy Bein' Me (1986). Features Rodney's HBO Big Boys (Jerry Seinfeld, Bob Nelson, Robert Townsend and the Late Great Sam Kinison) along with Rodney bits! (60 min) I Can't Take it No More (Rodnay Dangerfield) Exposed (ABC-1985) Rodney Dangerfield special. (47 minutes) All episodes of the Abbott and Costello Show (about 52) It Ain't Hay (Abbott and Costello) Abbott and Costello Meet Captain Kid Every movie with Jackie Gleason including ones not in SHOWTIME CBS 8-13-68 w/DAVE CLARK FIVE & MORE This 1968 summer replacement for The Red Skelton Hour was produced in London and featured a different roster of guest performers each week. This show is from August 13, 1968 and is hosted by Juliet Prowse. Guests are: Joe Baker, Joan Carlyle, The Dave Clark Five, Bruce Forsyth, Buddy Greco and Jo, Jac & Joni. NOTE: THIS IS A VERY RARE LATE 60 S APPEARANCE BY THE DAVE CLARK FIVE! Program includes all original commercials and network promos (including one for a Barbara Streisand Special from Central Park, and the season premiere of Red Skelton). B&W Kinescope. SHOWTIME CBS 6-25-68 w/FREDDIE & DREAMERS +++ This 1968 summer replacement for The Red Skelton Hour was produced in London and featured a different roster of guest performers each week. This show is from June 25, 1968 and is hosted by Eddy Arnold. Guests are: Roy Castle, Derek Dene, Jimmy Edwards, Freddie and the Dreamers, Susan Vaughan, Janie Marden, Susan Lane and The London Line. NOTE: THIS IS A VERY RARE LATE 60 S APPEARANCE BY FREDDIE AND THE DREAMERS! Program includes all original commercials (including a Bold detergent ad with Joanne Worley). B&W Kinescope. CHEVY SHOW 1-31-57 w/Art Carney, Perry Como++ Here's a SUPER RARE Chevy Show from January 31, 1957 hosted by Dinah Shore. Her guests are Art Carney, Perry Como and Stubby Kaye! This show features a great opening number where Dinah goes out to the audience and gets everyone involved in this sing-a-long. She even goes up to the cameramen (good shots of the early NBC cameras here) and the stagehands (cue cards and all)! This show is a MUST for Honeymooners fans! It has Art Carney talking to his friend Norton who can get them around the city via sewer! Another great segment is when Art Carney makes Perry Como disappear and then proceeds to tell the camera Hey Gleason I told you I d get rid of the opposition ! Perry and Dinah do some very nice songs (including a duet). Also mentioned in this show are The Skylarks and Count Basie (they are both cut out of my print and therefore are not here). This show DOES include all the original 1957 Chevy commercials! B&W Kinescope. THE ENTERTAINERS DEBUT SHOW CBS-TV 9-25-64!!! This is the very first episode of The Entertainers , a variety show featuring a lot of early CBS comedians who will later get their own shows! Cast includes: Carol Burnett, Bob Newhart, Dom De Louise, John Davidson, Angela Laventi, Tessie O Shea, Mark Buckwald, Kendra & Olive, Jack Burns and more! B&W Kinescope. DOM DE LOUISE SHOW CBS 5-8-68 w/PAT COOPER ++ This is an episode of The Dom De Louise Show which was a summer replacement show from May 5, 1968 with Kaye Hart, Pat Cooper, Carol Arthur, Paul Dooley, Joseph Gentry, Michael Gentry, Bill McClitcheon and Marian Mercer. There are some hilarious comedy skits as well as some great musical numbers here! Includes all the original Armed Forces TV & Radio spots. B&W Kinescope. DIAGNOSIS UNKNOWN CBS TV LIVE DRAMA 7-5-60 This is the very first episode of Diagnosis Unknown , a summer replacement for The Gary Moore Show . It was about Daniel Coffee, the head pathologist at a very large metropolitan hospital, who worked closely with the police department to solve bizarre murders. Working with him were his two close friends and assistants, Motilal Mookerji and Doris Hudson. This show is from July 5, 1960 and is titled A Case of Radioactive Wine . Stars include: Patrick O Neal, Phyllis Newman, Cal Bellini, Martin Huston, Chester Morris, Tom Bosley (a very early TV appearance), Murray Matheson, Larry Hagman (a very early TV appearance), Millette Alexander, Patricia Barry and a brief cameo by Gary Moore! These are one of those shows that CBS produced around the time they were experimenting with a new medium called VIDEOTAPE! This has to be one of the last live on tape dramas done, shortly after CBS will abandon the idea of videotape for these type of shows and go back to film. Around this time CBS also produced those famous videotape Twilight Zone episodes, this show is not as well known (and obviously much more rare). There are no commercials in this show. B&W Kinescope. LUCY GETS LUCKY (3/1/75)with Dean Martin- For her second CBS-TV special of the 1974-75 season, Lucille Ball Productions signed Dean Martin to co-star with Lucy, and contracted Bob O'Brian to write the script. In this Las Vegas-based farce, a new Lucy character is introduced (Lucy Collins), who plans to go see Martin's nightclub act in the desert resort town. Subsequently, she makes men fall off ladders, botches a series of odd jobs in a casino, and gets chased through the MGM Grand Hotel by a bunch of men she believes to be gangsters. The hour-long special is reminiscent of a lengthy Here's Lucy or Lucy Show episode. Variety, however, dismissed the O'Brian script and the entire production as "old hat." Martin had previously appeared in Lucy's favorite episode of The Lucy Show, "Lucy Dates Dean Martin," which aired on Valentine's Day in 1966 A LUCILLE BALL TV SPECIAL w/ART CARNEY 1974 Happy Anniversary and Goodbye was Lucy's first television special since Here's Lucy's unceremonious cancellation at the end of its sixth season. Aired on October 19, 1974, Lucy and Art Carney (The Honeymooners) portrayed a couple married for twenty-five years who decide to separate. Variety said the special was severely weakened by "dusty zingers and ancient sitcom humor [used] to hammer home a story whose sensitive message gets buried in the accumulation of cornball." Starring: Lucille Ball, Art Carney, Nanette Fabray, Peter Marshall, and a super early TV appearance by Arnold Schwarzenegger giving Lucy a massage! Art Carney uses a Honeymooners line in this show, there s a point where he s examining a woman s teeth and drops his instrument. He then says leave it there the cat ll get it ! A must for Honeymooners completists! Color Film. A LUCILLE BALL TV SPECIALw/JACKIE GLEASON '75 For her first CBS-TV special of the 1975-76 season, Lucy chose to work with Jackie Gleason, whom she had only appeared with briefly in the "Lucy Visits Jack Benny" episode of Here's Lucy, broadcast September 30, 1968. The pair appeared together in three sketches, "a blend of comedy, satire and pathos written by Renee Taylor and Joseph Bologna" (TV Guide). The magazine went on to describe the special as "variations on love and marriage...Lucy and Jackie play 'Herb and Sally,' middle-aged marrieds seeking to restore excitement to their lives with a trip to Rome. 'Fred and Rita,' illicit lovers who meet in a dark restaurant and try to decide whether to tell their spouses about their affair. 'Mike and Pauline,' domineering parents coming to the painful realization that their kids are ready for independence." The special, directed by Charles Walters and broadcast December 3, 1975, was universally panned, especially be Variety, which called it "a dismal trio of one-act plays about unpleasant and stupid people." Although the program received high ratings, Lucy had yet to have a critically acclaimed production in her post-Here's Lucy career. It would arrive in her next special. Color Film. A LUCILLE BALL TV SPECIAL w/ART CARNEY 1976 Lucy was disappointed that she had yet to score a critical hit in the two years since Here's Lucy left the airwaves. For her follow-up to the panned Three for Two (see my other listings for this special), Lucy chose this 'dramedy' about "a middle-aged divorcee coming to grips with life on her own" (TV Guide), Catherine Curtis. The magazine went on to describe the special's three seriocomic vignettes. "In 'First Night,' Catherine is alone in her new apartment in New York, waging a steady battle against 'terminal self-pity.' But 'First Affair' brings Catherine back into the swing, as she seeks romance with a widowed, down-to-earth carpenter (Art Carney). A little older and wiser, Catherine Curtis next finds 'First Love.' Peter (Joseph Bologna) is charming, witty, devoted, attractive -- and 14 years younger than she is. He's willing to give her anything; but she desperately fears the difference in their ages." Three for Two's director, Charles Walters, was back for this one -- and the pair scored a hit. Originally airing on March 30, 1976. Variety praised Lucy, saying she delivered "an outstanding performance as a middle-aged divorcee emotionally shattered by the end of a twenty-year marriage." Color Film. ART CARNEY LOST TV SPECIAL FROM DEC. 4, 1959! Here s a SUPER RARE TV special that's been lost and very rarely written about! Originally aired on NBC-TV on December 4, 1959 it's titled "The Art Carney Show: Very Important People" and was produced by David Susskind! Art Carney hosts this hilarious TV special with the following guests: Dick Van Dyke, Gloria Vanderbilt, Duke Hazlett, Tom Bosley, David Doyle, Shirley Ballard, Diane Deering, Bill Pierson, John Straub and Grover Dale. There are many very funny skits on this special including Carney as a retiring CEO of a company trying to decide who'll be the next in line, Art as a young unknown candidate for the upcoming 1960 presidential elections (possibly a jab at JFK!), a great send-up on "What's My Line?" called "What's You're Business" where Carney is the MC, a goof on the "Frank Sinatra Show" where "Dino" is too drunk to come out, then finally a take-off on one of those "high brow" society shows of the time where big name celebrities just "drop-in". Well in this takeoff everything goes wrong! Including miscues, horrible camera work (good shots of early NBC cameras here), dopey commercials (face spray, etc) and a disastrous finale where the dancing couple (supposed to be Arthur Murray) falls down a flight of stairs! This is a great special and a "must have" for all Art Carney collectors as well as Honeymooners completists! Please note the closing segment to this show is missing as well as all the commercials. Everything else is here. B&W Kinescope. THE MORCAMBE AND WISE SHOW BBC-TV NOV. 1973!! #1 Here s a great piece of UK TV history, an episode of the hilarious "Morcambe and Wise Show" originally aired on the BBC on November 1973. Their guests include: Nina, The Pattersons, Kenny Ball and His Jazzmen, Ann Hamilton, Frank Tregear, John Scott-Martin, Christine Shaw, Jennifer Watts and Janet Webb. This show features the usual great British humor done by this slapstick duo. Including skits about a crazy director trying to get his talent to sing to a woman while giving eccentric stage directions, a man browsing in an auto parts store manages to blow a horn a the right times while a salesman talks to a female customer, a leg rejuvenating machine and two roommates on a Sunday morning. This show is a must have for Beatles fans because Kenny Ball and His Jazzmen sing their rendition of Paul McCartney s' "When I'm 64"! There are no commercials or network IDs in this show. B&W Kinescope. RED SKELTON HOUR 2-15-66 w/ED WYNN & D. LOREN Here's a rare TV show for your archives! It's a "Red Skelton Hour" originally aired on February 15, 1966. Guests include: Ed Wynn, Donna Loren, David Rose and His Orchestra, The Alan Copeland Singers, & The Don Henniman Dancers. There's a great segment where Red gives Ed Wynn a cake for his upcoming 80th birthday. This has to be Ed's last TV appearance because he passed away on June 19th and never lived to see his 80th birthday, which would have been on November 9th. Also in this show is a great skit with Ed Wynn playing Freddie the Freeloader's long lost father! Both Donna Loren songs are intact along with all the original network ID's, billboards and commercials! A great complete network hour! B&W Kinescope. Mary talks one-on-one with each cast member (Ed Asner, Valerie Harper, Gavin MacLeod, Betty White, Cloris Leachman, Georgia Engel). They are very personal and intimate conversations in which they recall moments they remember both on the screen and behind the scenes." A wide variety of clips reinforces each discussion.
