I think it was the episode where Sgt.Carter, so frustrated by the fact that Gomer actualy liked him, decided to quit being a drill instructor and get transfered to another camp. After Gomer and the others graduated boot camp,Sgt.Carter left for Camp Henderson in California. When there,he saw that his new platoon was the same platoon-who'd just left boot camp for infantry training. When Sgt.Carter saw Gomer he looked stunned as Gomer said, "Surprise,Sergant!Surprise,Surprise,Surorise!"

Any ep where he sings like an angel and where he has problems with girls!

By his new album "When He Spoke"!
I haven't yet but I will when the X-mas shopping in K-Mart has subsided.

I liked when Duke was on leave, and his friends got him to do a stage-act in a nightclub. He got big laughs with all his jokes about Sgt.Carter.

DUKE:Before he was a marine,he must have been in the van and storage business. His favorite expression is,"Move it!Move it!Move it!"

I start laughing out loud whenever I think about the episode where Sgt. Carter travels back home to Wichita. Gomer accidentally gets trapped on the plane and he tries to hide from Sarge throughout the show. Sgt. Carter keeps getting quick glimpses of Gomer and thinks he's loosing his mind.

I love the episode where the photographers trick Gomer into poseing for a "Girlie" magazine, when Sgt Carter runs back into the barracks and opens that magazine and says "Wait A minute, I think That's Clarice" is my all time funnest TV line!

I'm new to this site, I love it!

I like the Welsh Rabbit episode where Gomer keeps having those dreams and sleepwalks and yells at Sgt Carter. Also the sing a song for papa episode where he the nightclub owner wants Gomer to sing that song everynight.

I would have to say my fave episode is the one they are showing now. Gomer has his foot stuck in this silver trophy boot. It is hilarious!

OMG! Now Carter has it on his foot! LOL

Thumbs up

My favorite episode would have to be "The Show Must Go On" It's the one where Gomer has to sing in front of the President, and when he finds out he loses his voice. He ends up regaining his confidence and sings at the Lincoln Memorial before he sings "The Impossible Dream" with an orchestra! I love the way he sings!

* the bank robbers that become good with gomers help and open a resturant.

* when gomer can tell when it was going to rain.. with that little dance.

* gomer & carter go on a survival test and gain 15 pounds, because gomer knows how to live in the woods.

* the mob guys love gomer singing

I like the pilot where Gomer first joins the marines, and the one where he wrecks Carter's car.

I think I like just about all of the GP episodes...I can watch this show any time it's on, and I don't mind any of the episodes.

Several favorites come to mind (most of which have already been listed)...

When Carter goes on furlough to Wichita and Gomer gets trapped on the plane.Carter keeps seeing Gomer in Wichita and thinks he's losing his mind (I love when Carter peeks up into the attic and there's Gomer, in a nightshirt, holding a candle and stretching out and yawning!) Hilarious!

When Gomer poses for a photographer and has pictures taken (alone). Later the photographer inserts several beautiful girls into the picture and makes it look like they're all over Gomer. Of course, Carter wants in on the action, and wants to know where Gomer spends his Sunday afternoons. Boy, was Carter ever disappointed...

The ep when Gomer gets his foot stuck in the boot booby prize.

The ep where Gomer is selected to train a guard dog (Gomer changes the dog's name from "Killer" to "Limly Gilbert", and the dog turns out to be a pussycat, except when Gomer himself is attacked).

The one where Carter has to not lose his temper for 24 hours...he drives miles off the base and climbs a mountain and starts screaming at the top of his lungs!

Also, I love the ep where Gomer has to paint the Marine Corp Mobile Command Post (camoflage colors, green, beige and black) and 3 hippies (Rob Reiner among them) help him. They paint their half of the vehicle all psychadelic colors with flowers and peace signs all over it...Gomer then complains that "no one will recognize this as a Mobile Command Post" to which the hippie (Moondog) replies, "well, that's the idea, ain't it?". That was great!! ("Hey, you're parking on the daisies, man")

Oh yeah, forgot one other favorite...the one where Gomer makes a call on a pay phone, and a bunch of change pours out, and he tries to return it to the phone company, who thinks Gomer's some kind of nut!!

Great show!!

I tend to especially like all of the ones in which Gomer decides to put in a transfer request for whatever reason and Sargent Carter, invariably, ends up realizing just how much he would miss his favorite knucklehead not being in his platoon! The one episode, in particular, that stands out is the one in which Gomer is deciding whether or not to re-enlist in the Marines and Sargent Carter lines Gomer up with an apartment, new clothes, and a job in order to entice him to go back into civilian life. The end results are hilarious!

Default All time favorite episode

Hi Everyone

I know it been awhile since someone answered this one, but since I'm new on the list, I would like to put in my two cents.

My favorie episode is Sergeant of the Week. I just laugh myself silly everytime I see this one. It is so funny when Sergeant Carter brings Gomer the apple, sugarcubes, someting to wrack the flies with, a brush to cromb his hair and not realizing all these things are really for a dying horse. And the look on his face, when the Lt. handed him that horse's pill was price less. At the end was good to when Gomer decided to do all the things that Sergeant Carter did for him. Even though Sergeant Carter wasn't to thilled about it. I was also glad that Sergeant Carter was choosen Sergeant of the week, because of his devotion to a dumb animal even though he misunderstood and thought it was Gomer that was dying. By far I thought this was a great and veryfunny eposide.

Gomer and Lou-Ann Forever

PS I hope this makes sense. I kind of wrote it fast
