Default New Stories You'd want on UM

If Unsolved Mysteries were revived with all new segments-what stories that have never been profiled ,would you like to have featured?

I would love to see a story about Brian Douglas Wells. He was a pizza delivery man from Erie,Pennsylvia .On August 28,2003 shortly after 2 PM ,He went on a delivery call. The address his caller gave was a vacant lot. What happened next is still not fully known but within an hour-Brian Douglas Wells showed up at a bank wearing a metal collar and a bomb strapped to him with a note demanding money. After he left the bank,The police arrived while Wells was in a neighboring parking lot.Wells Told police that he had been ambushed earlier and forced to wear the collar and bomb and rob the bank. While a bomb squad raced to the scene ,Wells remained calm unlying the impending danger. At 3:18 Pm-the Collar bomb exploded killing Wells. To date-no one has been charged in this highly publized bizarre case.

What Stories would you profile?

Hi grinch! Good question. A story in the recent news that I find really interesting is the case of Maura Murray. Here is a link:

http://www.dailycollegian.com/vnews/.../413fbf44caa40

It would be an ideal one to air if UM were ever to start up again.

Default That Brian Douglas Wells case would definitely make the cut

It reminded me somewhat of the UM case with the cab driver and the guy in the turban who forced him to rob a bank. I'm not great at names. Kane and the regulars will remember the specifics.

Mostly I would like detailed updates. These brief voice overs with a little bit of text don't cut it. I'm sure they could do entire segments with fascinating updates on how cases were solved, or with additional info on cases that remain unsolved.

Also, I think there should be a remake of Resurrection Mary. Haven't heard much about her latest shindigs.

I'm not sure why but this case really bothers me. I came across it on the Doe Network. Missing persons cases are always more mysterious when more than one person disappears.

Default Yeah, I'm surprised that missing trio case hasn't generated more publicity

I don't think I ever heard about it before. I did a brief search and found a little bit of info. They put a new detective on the case a few years ago and he found more witnesses. Authorities think the trio left willingly from the mall, but met with foul play very soon. They have narrowed the suspect list to "less than 5."

This is the link I used: http://p069.ezboard.com/fjazzyrosefrm186 It includes five links on the case, with #3 and #4 the "new" stuff.

I would like to see the guy who broke into my car captured.

Oh yeah, and Jonathan Luna's murder.

In the past six months, someone has keyed my little Infiniti G20 all the way around back from front passenger door to front driver's door, put numerous stickers on it, stuck orange gum on it, pushed in the rear view mirrors, and now they are lining up chicken bones in X patterns atop my sunroof. That last one has been repeated three times. All of this happens late at night, 2 AM or later.

Charming, and so clever.

Maybe I'm not that original but two cases that I think of today is the disappearance of Michael Negrete and a triple teen homicide that took place in New Mexico. If you ever seen fox's short lived show "Million Dollar Mysteries" then you know of these two. Possibly.

I would want to see renewed awareness for the JonBenet Ramsey case. The murder has always intrigued me. I would love to see how UM presents the JB murder since the they now believe the intruder theory.

Also the Stephanie Hart Grizzel and Nicholas Kunselman case. They were the two Columbine High School students mysteriously murdered in 2000 at a Subway sandwich shop.

Oh yeah, I just remembered the story of Kenneth Trentadue. An inmate held in a federal prison in Oklahoma. He was found dead in his cell and the officials told his family he had hung himself. Yet he had massive head wounds, swollen hands... I could go on but suffice it to say he was beaten to death REALLY bad. His cell was cleaned before an investigation could take place, and his case was closed the next day. You can find more info on the web. Beware of some of the pictures out there.

I'm bumping this because the Brian Douglas Wells case has apparently been solved. I don't know the specifics but I turned on Countdown with Keith Olbermann on MSNBC a few minutes ago and he highlighted the case at the opening of the show, indicating it has been solved. He will have a segment during this show and I'm sure other programs will focus on it also.

I live right outside Erie. The police are saying they're in the "final stages" of solving the case, though they're not releasing details.

Incedentally, one woman who has been mentioned regarding the case is suing Geraldo Rivera for his portrayal of the case. She also just happens to be in jail for killing her boyfriend and keeping his body in the freezer so she could continue to collect his disability/social security/whatever checks. His body was found in the house to which Wells delivered the pizza. Not suspicious at all. :P

Edit: Another possible case could be the disappearance of a DA from near my hometown, Ray Gricar. The whole thing's just really weird, and is still a top news story in the area. Court TV brought a psychic in, but IIRC, they didn't turn up anything.

Cool

The Death of rapper Notirious B.I.G(a.k.a Biggie Smalls). I think that would be a cool case to see.

I saw that on KO too, and was wondering how I had never heard of this case! It also sounds a lot like that one case on UM with the cab driver who had a bomb strapped to him by a bank robber in a bad middle-eastern costume. The police haven't disclosed whether they think the pizza delivery man was involved. What do you guys think?
