Theme Song On Season 3 DVD Messed Up

I have noticed of some great interest that the episodes on Season 3 after Pebbles was born,the theme song seemed to be messed up or something. Instead of showing Fred getting Pebbles while she is playing with her blocks and then Wilma and Dino running out and then at the drive-in seeing Fred put Pebbles on top of Dino,we get where Fred,Wilma,and Dino go to the drive-in and in the music you can definitely tell that the new scenes that are supposed to be there are not and that we hear Dino popping the top of the car and not seeing Fred put Pebbles on top of Dino. Anyone else notice this??

I noticed another mistake in the beginning credits, it occurs on disc 3 of the Season 3 set. The opening credits for "High School Fred" show Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm placed on Dino, and neither character was introduced at that point of the show!

To tell you the truth I don't think they originally had Pebbles in the opening theme until The Beggining of Season 4. For some reason in recent years they have added Pebbles to the Begginings of the episodes right from the episode after she was born to the end of Season 3. They do the same thing in Syndication with Bamm Bamm. They put him at the Begginings of the episodes right from his debut episode up. But originally Bamm Bamm, Barney and Betty, were not added to the beggining sequence until Season 5. It seems funny though how they made that mistake on the DVD putting a newer Beggining with Pebbles and Bamm Bamm on the High School episode with Fred. However I do remember years ago on TBS they did this with The season 2 episode with Rock Quarry. They actually ended the show with the Season 4 closing with Pebbles.

I just got to that show today and also the end credits have no sign of Pebbles. One good thing out of all this, I won't have to buy season 4's set to have the Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm opening.

Yeah. I've noticed the 'pop' sound is not sychronised with the action. And it looks like a syndicated episode has found its way in as well. "The Big Move" is only about 22 minutes. I was suspicious when there wasn't any teaser. They've done a good jump of editing it though. I can't tell where the cut is. I can remember many moons ago the "everybody into the pewl (pool)" said more than once though. Ah well, almost a great set.

Yep, "The Big Move" is a syndicated print. It's missing a scene of Fred at work suffering a cold after being thrown into the pool and he ends up repeating the line "everybody into the pewl". The episode also ends with audio of an old H/B tag set to video of the current one.

When the "Modern Stone Age family" theme introduced in 1962, (In "Barney the Invisible"-see below), there was also a scrheeching--not a STEAM WHISTLE--bird at the Rock Quarry, and that sound effect when the dino-ime clock punched Fred's outgoing ticket, and odd horn chord before the midseciton kvridge "Let's ride.."
and the unscynchrized Dino pop sound effect..(oither same as the remaining opening minus Pebbles and Bamm bamm, who of course wouldn't be introduced for a year!

["Barney the Inivsble' [1962] also was the ONLY episode credited veteran "Andy Grifftih Show" and oldtime radfio character actoer Howard MacNear (he's the doc and all those who go "Oh..oh,my",wearing glasses and such),and the only one with the Screen Gems "Chinese character" lettering NOT to have those retro-genertic credits added in 1966 listing veteran WB/HB scribe Warren Foster and HB character actors Jphn Stepehnson and Hal Smtih exclusively (that was done for a lot due to the 1962-1962 seaosn being the first to use the familiar theme; of coruse the earlier seasons have their own general set of credits credting Warren Foster, Michael maltese, & Arthuy Phillips, and the main cast plus the two S''s (John and Hal) I mention PLUS Don Messick, Daws Butler and Jerry Mann (who did many of the Phil Silvers voices,e.g.talking Dino) and a "1960" copyright..better than before but still the original credits were changed..due to some being lost others being sponsor plugs..not t that Mel Blanc and Bea Benadaret=-the Rubbles got credited on the first few seasons when tTHOSE orginally aired!]..even though "Barney the Invisble" came out at the same time as whichever episode had its credits added to earlier Flinstones..of coruse this would be done in 1990s syndication packages and is done still on afew of the episodes on the Season 4 on the DVD.. still most of the VDV episodes with the later "block letter Hanna Barbera's own" lettering from 1962 on (beiginning with "The Twitch" have correct open and closingh redits, even with pebbles and bamm bamm in that :No B iz like Show Biz" footage stuck on (e.g.,"Gravelbery Pie","Curtain Call at Bedrock" in Seaosn 6).

Thanks for mentioning Jerry Mann. I always wondered who did the Bilko/Dino
voice in "The Snorkasaurus." I knew it wasn't Daws Butler, who did do his
Bilko/Hokey Wolf voice for a character in the episode "Ann-Margrock Presents."

So out of all 166 episodes, they had to put one edited episode on the DVD's. Aggravating to say the least, it seems like they did it on purpose. I'm sure an uncut version of THE BIG MOVE exists, but the scoundrels at WB put the edited version on the DVD.

I did notice that HIGH SCHOOL FRED has the wrong opening credits, but I see that as a minor glitch. It looks like they might have used the same closing credit sequence for the season one and two episodes and first two eps of season three. All of them have a copyright year of MCMLX (1960).

And I now have the uncut version of THE BIG MOVE. Boomerang aired it recently. A fellow trader recorded the episode for me and sent me the tape, to which I am forever grateful! :-)
