I was just wondering this. Norm comes across as a really friendly guy, and he's the sort to have lots of friends, but I don't think he has any outside of the bar. He may have done when he was young, but Cheers must have been his whole life since he was legally allowed to go and have a drink there. And I supposed he has enough friends at Cheers to keep him happy - he's certainly extremely popular.

But that's just what I think...

Norm had friends everywhere.... with a liquor license.
All the episodes where they leave the bar, everybody ELSE knows his name. Gary's, the bowling alley, the hotel on "Frasier."

If he spends all his time at cheers how does he manage to be a regular at other bars?
