Sometimes songs on a CD or a tape are played at a funeral. Here's what I'd like to have played at mine, which won't be for a couple of decades*:
Pink Floyd: "Great Gig in the Sky." The Byrds: "Turn, Turn, Turn." Blind Faith: "Can't Find My Way Home." Jeff Beck: "Another Place." Led Zeppelin: "In My Time of Dying." The Talking Heads: "Heaven." |

They played, Oh Danny Boy, at my father's funeral. Perfect for the big Irishman. It wiped me out.

My dad says when he dies he wants us to play "Happy Trails." I think he was just kidding though.

I think There Will Come a Day by Faith Hill would be a good one to play.

Amazing Grace done by a solo piper is always really moving.
I always wanted "Funeral For A Friend" by Elton John until I heard the final song in the Life of Brian - "Always Look On The Bright Side (Of Life)" - now that's the one I want played for sure! And I want everyone up singing, clapping and dancing to it!! |

True story, my grandmother's neighbor Freddie died several years ago and when we walked up in the funeral home they were playing "Freddie's Dead" by Curtis Mayfield over the speaker system
I busted up lol "Freddie's Dead, that's what I said!" That song was never the same for me after that

If one of those people dies, I should play:
1. "Goodbye" - The Spice Girls 2. "Let Me Be Your Angel" - Stacy Lattisaw 3. "I Die Without You" - PM Dawn 4. "A Song for You" - The Carpenters 5. "Tonight's the Final Night" - Douglass Alan Davis (a rare song was played on Phoenix KRIZ back in 1978). 6. "Goodnight My Love" - Jesse Belvin 7. "Make It Last Forever" - Keith Sweat 8. "The Last Song" - Hilary Duff 9. "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday" - Boyz II Men 10. "Kiss and Say Goodbye" - The Manhattans 11. "Last Dance" - Donna Summer 12. "One Last Cry" - Brian McKnight 13. "Stairway to Heaven" - The O'Jays |
