I like Gomer and Louann! They're sooooooo sweet!
Gomer o you wanna go Louann?
Louann:It's alright with me as long as it's alright with you.
Gomer;Do you wanna go?
Louann o you?
Gomer: It's up to you!

I agree with you that Gomer and LouAnn made a cute couple. They were so considerate toward each other. I'm kind of disappointed that the 2 didn't get married....

Wink

Just because they didn't get married in the show doesn't mean that they will never get married. maybe someday they'll make a t.v. movie out of them getting married. In the movie "Return to Mayberry" did Gomer ever get married? If he did in the movie who did he marry?

I prefer Sgt. Carter & Bunny. I never completely bought Gomer & Louann; she wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer but I still couldn't see why she'd bother with such a goofball as Gomer.

Conversely, I didn't know why Bunny wanted Carter. He was kind of gruff, cheap, and wasn't much of a gentleman.

I thought Gomer and Luann made a sweet couple.
Sgt. Carter and Bunny were always fighting it seemed.

You're right. Gomer and Louann were very considerate to each other, while Carter and Bunny were often arguing...sometimes about him being cheap.

Default Bunny & Sgt Carter ..more 'real'

I think Bunny & Sgt Carter were more 'real' .. yeah they argued, he was cheap, but he was charming & nice just enough to even the scale. And that's the whole funny thing that the directors wanted in inject in our heads -to make us think "now what does she possibly see in HIM?". Just my $.02

Oh No Bunny and Vince

Bunny and Vince were more realistic.
The ep where Bunny was steamed at Vince because he was late to pick her up for their dinner date --I can't recall where or what he was doing with Gomer, but I recalled for years, Bunny angry at Vince: "I'm starving, Vince! .. I'm wilting in this heat!..." and Vince replying "You could wrap cold towels around your wrists." SLAM! She hung up. At the time, I was pre-tween, and thought that women ought to be sweet and nice to their men ( though Louanne took it to the extreme opposite! ), and had worried that Bunny was doing the wrong thing --"be understanding," I had thought.

Years later, I suffered the same thing --starving while waiting for a man to show up --several different men! I'd not get dressed until they arrived so I wouldn't sweat my clothes. I learned to eat a little in advance, so I wouldn't be so angry at being hungry, and so I wouldn't view HIM as my only source of food, therefore either angry or too grateful.

Gomer & Louann were the sweetest and Vince & Bunny were the funniest. Bunny had a little temper and when you put her and the sarge together, it was really funny.

Even though it was just that one episode, I thought Sergeant Carter and "debutante" Diane (she was the one who thought Carter was a rich playboy who was in the marines just for kicks ) was a match made in heaven.
